Hospice of Knox County

Hospice of Knox County HNCO/Hospice of Knox County is a 501(c)(3) non-profit providing palliative, hospice, and bereavement.

Founded in 1983, Hospice of Knox County is celebrating a 40-year legacy of serving the community as “Your Hometown Hospice”. We are a locally focused and community minded non-profit organization, dedicated to providing peace of mind and comfort through compassionate care. Hospice of Knox County is a member of Hospice of North Central Ohio (HNCO). Our mission is to provide palliative, hospice, and

bereavement support, while guiding families through every step, always respecting their wishes and goals. We provide compassionate care that addresses the physical, spiritual and emotional needs of those with serious illnesses. Patient care is provided in the home or in an extended care facility. Through doctors, nurses, aides, social workers, chaplains, administrators, and volunteers, our goal is to improve the quality of life, providing comfort throughout the illness, until the last breath is taken. In addition, HNCO/Hospice of Knox County offers comprehensive bereavement services, including support groups, individual counseling, educational programs, and Camp Hope, a week-long children's grief camp held each June. We differ from other hospice organizations in that our bereavement services extend beyond the families of our patients to benefit anyone in the community at any time.

We were honored to share the healing benefits of Reiki with our community. With the help of Christopher Bunner, RMT, a practitioner with more than 40 years of experience, we hosted programs at the Public Library of Mount Vernon and Knox County and the Station Break Senior Center.
