We've got some extremely exciting news!
Jessica Soria has officially transitioned from intern to counselor here at MVFC and her immediate openings are filling fast while we work through our waitlist and new service requests! Welcome aboard, Jessica!
Jessica is a temporary licensed mental health counselor (t-LMHC) passionate about creating a safe and supportive therapeutic environment for individuals from all walks of life. She enjoys working with children (as young as 2 years old), adolescents, and adults facing a wide range of concerns, including anxiety, depression, ADHD, adjustment difficulties, grief and loss, and other life transitions. She believes that every person has a unique story, and she strives to create a warm, welcoming, and nonjudgmental environment where clients feel safe to explore their experiences, emotions, and goals. Her goal is to help clients build on their existing strengths, develop effective coping strategies, and gain greater confidence in navigating life's challenges. She considers it a privilege to walk alongside clients on their journeys toward healing, growth, and greater well-being.
Jessica's therapeutic approach is grounded in person-centered principles, emphasizing the importance of building a trusting relationship and meeting each client where they are. She believes that clients are the experts in their own lives, and her role is to provide support, guidance, and tools that help foster growth and resilience. In addition to person-centered therapy, she incorporates narrative therapy techniques to help clients better understand and reshape the stories they tell about themselves and their experiences. When working with children, she often utilizes play-based and art-based interventions to encourage expression, communication, and healing in developmentally appropriate ways. She is interested in furthering her education by specializing in Play Therapy and Theraplay to continue her therapeutic work with children. Outside of her work as a counselor, she enjoys biking, hiking, reading a good book, and connecting with friends and loved ones. These experiences help her maintain balance and remind her of the importance of self-care, meaningful relationships, and finding joy in everyday moments.
