🎉🐾 Happy 1st Birthday, Sammy! 🐾🎂

The Glenwood was filled with smiles, wagging tails, and lots of love as we celebrated our community dog Sammy’s first birthday! 🥳🐶 Our residents made his special day even sweeter by bringing him birthday gifts, showering him with attention, and gathering together to sing a very enthusiastic Happy Birthday! 🎶

Our amazing kitchen staff went above and beyond, too, making Sammy his very own doggie cookies and a peanut butter & banana birthday cake! 🍌🥜🐾 He was certainly one spoiled birthday boy!

Happy 1st Birthday, Sammy! We sure love you! 🥳🐾💙

A huge thank you to our incredible Dietary Crew, led by the amazing Crystal, for going above and beyond to create a special Luau Lunch to celebrate the end of summer! 🌺🌴🍍
From the festive flavors to the beautiful presentation, so much extra time, creativity, and hard work went into making this meal an experience for our residents. And Crystal didn’t stop there—she even created an entire tree out of pineapple! 🍍🌴 Talk about dedication to the details!

Our food service team works tirelessly every day behind the scenes, but special events like this show just how much heart they pour into everything they do. Thank you for the extra effort, the creativity, the long hours, and for always finding ways to make our residents feel celebrated and cared for. We appreciate you more than words can say! 💛

At The Glenwood, some of the sweetest moments come from the most unexpected places! Our residents were recently treated to the most adorable white-glove service from the six-year-old son of one of our beloved employees, Myriah. This precious little gentleman delivered trays, smiles, and plenty of charm as he proudly helped care for our residents. He took his important job so seriously and worked so hard that, by the end of the day, our tiny helper was completely worn out—crashing in the car on the way home after a day of spreading joy!

Moments like these—where family, laughter, love, and genuine connections come together—are what truly set The Glenwood apart. We are so lucky to have the most amazing little helpers… and this sweet boy may just have stolen all of our hearts! 💙

The Glenwood residents enjoyed a magical evening at August’s Dinner Club, themed Arabian Nights! Residents were treated to delicious Arabic flavors, festive fun, and a wonderful opportunity to gather with family and friends to enjoy an evening of food, laughter, and community.

A special shoutout to our Dietary Crew for their attention to detail, delicious food, and the ambiance that made the evening so special!

Phones and internet are still out at this time. Our Resident Call Light System is still fully operational, this is just affecting the wifi and phone lines in the building. We are working with our tech support to get this fixed as soon as possible. In the mean time, please continue reaching out to Ashley at 217-460-2939. I am also able to retrieve voicemail that are left at the community from my cell phone.

The storms have damaged our router, and The Glenwood is without phone and internet service until further notice. If you need to get in touch with a resident or our offices in the meantime, please call our Executive Director Ashley at (217) 460-2939.

🦎🐍 Scovill Mobile Zoo came to the Glenwood, and we had a wild time! 🐢

We laughed as birds called out throughout our facility, bravely met some pretty petite snakes and lizards, and got plenty of snuggles with adorable guinea pigs. But the real highlight? Watching an armadillo unfold from a little ball and casually stroll around! 😍

It was a fun-filled day of learning, laughter, and unforgettable animal encounters. A huge thank you to Scovill Mobile Zoo for bringing the animals and the smiles to Glenwood! ❤️🐾

Summer was in full swing at The Glenwood as our residents enjoyed an unforgettable Summer Bash! The afternoon featured a fantastic Frank Sinatra tribute concert, filling the air with timeless classics that had everyone singing along and reminiscing. To top it all off, residents cooled down with delicious free shaved ice, making it the perfect way to celebrate the season. It was a day filled with great music, sweet treats, laughter, and wonderful memories shared with friends and neighbors.

Our residents came together to celebrate America's 250th birthday with a festive, patriotic-themed Dinner Club filled with great food, laughter, and community spirit. Dressed in red, white, and blue, everyone enjoyed an all-American menu while sharing stories, making memories, and honoring our nation's rich history. The dining room was decorated with patriotic colors and festive accents, creating the perfect setting for this special occasion. It was a wonderful celebration of freedom, friendship, and the pride we share in commemorating 250 years of America. 🇺🇸
