Baxter Health is pleased to welcome Michael Campbell, MD, to the Baxter Health Comprehensive Women's Clinic. Dr. Campbell joins Dr. Maureen Flowers and Brooke Hinrichs, APRN, and will begin seeing patients in September.

Access to obstetrics and gynecology care is a persistent challenge in rural communities across the country, and north central Arkansas is no exception. Recruiting additional OB/GYN coverage to this region has been a priority for Baxter Health, and Campbell’s arrival expands the capacity of the Comprehensive Women’s Clinic.

Campbell brings more than 25 years of experience in obstetrics and gynecology, having practiced in both hospital and clinic settings across Arkansas and Texas. He earned his Doctor of Medicine from Texas Tech Health Science Center and completed his residency in OB/GYN at Texas Tech Regional Health Sciences Center in Amarillo. He has spent his career caring for patients through the full range of obstetric and gynecologic needs, including complicated cases that require a higher level of clinical experience.

Campbell has particular expertise in laparoscopic and robotic gynecologic procedures, minimally invasive surgical approaches that typically result in less pain, shorter hospital stays, and faster recovery for patients. His most recent position was at Ouachita County Medical Center in Camden, Ark., where he served as the facility’s OB/GYN physician.

“Bringing additional OB/GYN coverage to Mountain Home is something we have been working toward, and Dr. Campbell is a strong addition to an already excellent team,” Brian Barnett, Vice President of Physician Enterprise and Business Development at Baxter Health, said. “Women across this region deserve access to this level of care close to home, and his experience and clinical skill will make a real difference for our patients.”

In his spare time, Campbell enjoys training and hunting with his Labradors. He said that unlike humans, his dogs do not ever question their purpose in life and instinctively do what is programmed into their DNA, and he finds joy watching them in their element.

Michael Campbell, MD, will begin seeing patients in September at the Baxter Health Comprehensive Women’s Clinic. To schedule an appointment, please call (870) 508-3260.
