The Baxter Health Residency Programs transition new Registered Nurses (RN), Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN)and Nurse Assistants (NA) into clinical practice. The program was designed to develop students into professionals and includes clinical experience with a preceptor. The Baxter Health Residency is helps transition new graduates into clinical practice efficiently, while honing critical and evid

ence-based decision-making skills. Residents get hands-on training in a hospital setting while continuing to learn and grown in the nursing field. Applications are accepted year-round for the residency program and are paid full-time positions.

Today we celebrate someone whose impact on Baxter Health cannot be measured by years alone — though 46 years and 9 months is an extraordinary legacy.

Aleta Newberry has been the steady heart of the Education Department, the welcoming face of hospital orientation, and the person so many employees first met when beginning their journey at Baxter Health.

AHA Coordinator, community liaison, mentor, and trusted teammate, she has shaped generations of healthcare professionals and strengthened countless relationships throughout our organization and community. Her wisdom, professionalism, and commitment to others have left a lasting mark on this hospital.

Aleta, your dedication has helped build the culture we are proud of today. Thank you for the early mornings, the steady leadership, the calm presence, the standards you upheld, and the care you poured into every person who walked through our doors.

Time to shine the spotlight on Wynne, an incredible nurse practitioner whose impact continues to shape our nurse residency program.

Wynne currently serves as a Nurse Practitioner with the Hospitalist Group, while still dedicating her time and expertise as a Clinical Educator. Her commitment to developing others has never wavered, and her influence is felt across every cohort she touches.

As the first Coordinator of our Nurse Residency Program, Wynne helped lay the foundation for what it is today. She brought vision, structure, and heart to the program, creating an environment where new nurses feel supported, challenged, and inspired.

Known for her dynamic speaking style, Wynne has a unique ability to connect, motivate, and elevate those around her. She is not only an educator, but a true mentor and advocate, consistently showing up to guide, encourage, and champion our nurse residents.

Her legacy continues through the strength of our program and the confidence of the nurses she’s helped shape.
