❤️ Our Nurse Residents and PCT Residents are raising awareness! ❤️

This September, Baxter Health is participating in National AFib Awareness Month, and our Cohort 29 Nurse Residents and PCT Residents are joining the effort by wearing red to raise awareness for atrial fibrillation (AFib)!

Our residents are here today for Professional Development classes, and while they’re learning and growing in their careers, they’re also helping spread awareness for this important cause. ❤️

AFib is the most common heart rhythm condition we see, and today our Nurse Residents and PCT Residents are helping support heart health and Baxter Health’s new electrophysiology program.

Building a strong healthcare workforce doesn’t begin when someone submits a job application—it begins by helping young people see what is possible.

Since 2021, Baxter Health’s White Coat Program has introduced 192 area high school students to healthcare careers through hands-on learning, career exploration, job shadowing, and meaningful connections with healthcare professionals.

This program represents a significant commitment from Baxter Health and our Workforce Development and Clinical Education teams. Our educators develop the curriculum, teach the classes, coordinate experiences across the hospital, and create opportunities for students to envision—and pursue—a future in healthcare.

The results speak for themselves. Former White Coat students are now working at Baxter Health as nurses, laboratory professionals, patient care technicians, and paramedics, while many others are continuing their education in college and healthcare training programs.

We are grateful for our partnership with the high school educators, whose collaboration helps us connect with students and strengthen this important bridge between education and employment.

This is what workforce development looks like: investing early, working together, and creating a pipeline that benefits our students, our hospital, and the communities we serve.

Tomorrow is an exciting day at Baxter Health! 🤍🥼

Our newest cohort of White Coat students will officially begin their journey with a White Coat Ceremony at 8:30 a.m.

We are excited to welcome these future healthcare professionals and support them as they explore careers in healthcare, gain hands-on experience, and take this important first step toward their futures.

A great day connecting future healthcare professionals with opportunities at Baxter Health!

We loved welcoming nursing, PCT, and EMS students to our Residency Open House! Attendees had the opportunity to meet nurse leaders, connect with resident alumni, learn more about career opportunities, and have their questions about what’s next in their healthcare journey answered.
