Happy Monday, Happy first full week in September, and happy “Labor Day!”
For most of us, it is a day off free from toil.
This ‘holiday’ – the first Monday in September - is rooted in the late nineteenth century, when labor activists pushed for a federal holiday to recognize the many contributions workers have made to America's strength, prosperity, and well-being.
It is a day to celebrate and especially honor all of us who labor alone, or with a team… whether it’s pursuing a profession, a trade, a vocation, a passion, a calling or raising a family and keeping the proverbial home fires burning.
“Your work is going to fill a large part of your life, and the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work. And the only way to do great work is to love what you do." — Steve Jobs
