Did you know pelvic floor therapy can help with constipation? 💩

🛑Outlet dysfunction constipation often comes down to how the pelvic floor is functioning. It can happen when these muscles are holding too much tension (overactive), when they aren’t coordinating properly, or most commonly, a combination of both.

🚽Common signs can include straining with bowel movements, difficulty passing stool, and a sense of blockage or re**al discomfort.

😵‍💫Hemorrhoids can also be seen alongside this type of constipation. When the pelvic floor isn’t relaxing or coordinating well, people tend to strain more or spend longer trying to empty. That repeated pressure increases load on the re**al veins, which can contribute to hemorrhoid development or flare-ups.

💡The above exercises are an easy place to start encouraging the pelvic floor and glute muscles to reduce gripping and tension-holding patterns often seen with constipation.

⏱️ Optimize these movements by pausing in the rockback position for a few relaxed, deep breaths for each rep. Think about breathing down into the pelvic bowl on inhales. 🫁

As always - DM me if you have any questions or if you’re ready to schedule your free phone consult today! ☎️

If your pelvic floor is already overactive, adding kegels can actually reinforce the problem. 😬

Muscles that stay shortened and tense have a harder time generating an effective contraction when you truly need it, which can show up as leakage. 💧

That same constant tension can also increase pressure and irritate the bladder, contributing to urgency and frequency. 🚨

On top of that, an upregulated nervous system keeps the pelvic floor in a guarded, “on” state, making it even harder to relax and coordinate. Real progress comes from restoring relaxation, timing, and pressure control, not just adding more contractions. ✅

Does this sound all too familiar? You don’t need to live with these symptoms. DM to schedule your free phone consult today to get on your path to feeling like yourself again! ☎️ 💬
