Muenster, TX is a small German community centered in northern Texas and is just a short drive north of the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex and west of Gainesville. Our office is located in the heart of Muenster among wine country, unique boutiques, cultural restaurants, and is an antique enthusiast’s dream. It is home to several well-known meat markets and is abundant with German hospitality and spirit. Dr. Dana Fuhrmann and Dr. Elaine Schilling of Smiles By German Design were born and raised in Muenster and have strong ties to their community. They saw a lack of dental specialists in the rural counties surrounding their community and had a vision of opening an all dental specialty practice. In doing so, they have been able to meet the needs of thousands of people who otherwise would not have access to the specialty teamwork provided by the doctors at Smiles By German Design. All the latest technology is available including 3D imaging and “same day” crowns milled by the doctors while you wait in the comfort of their practice. The doctors of Smiles By German Design support patients that require specialty care to include oral surgery, implants, removable and fixed dentures, and aesthetic smile transformations. Our team is dedicated to quality treatment planning and insurance coordination for each and every patient. Questions about your insurance? Call our Insurance Coordinator for assistance. Secure the smile you have always dreamed about today!

🦷 A CLOSER LOOK AT YOUR SMILE!

Did you know digital dental scans can give you a detailed, 3D view of your teeth? At Smiles By German Design, technology like the iTero scanner can help our team examine your teeth, visualize certain dental concerns, and explain treatment options in a way that’s easier to understand.

Whether we’re evaluating your bite, planning restorative treatment, or helping you better understand your oral health, having a closer look can make an important difference in planning your care.

🦷 BRACES AREN’T JUST ABOUT STRAIGHT TEETH

When you think of orthodontics, you probably think about creating a straighter smile. But orthodontic treatment is also about making sure your teeth and jaws work together properly.

Treatment can help correct crowded or overlapping teeth, bite issues and problems with how the upper and lower jaws come together. It can also make it easier to keep your teeth clean and maintain good oral health.

Orthodontics isn’t just about straight teeth—it can also help create more space for your tongue and improve airway function, helping you breathe better and sleep better. 🦷✨

At Smiles By German Design, Dr. Elena Jacob specializes in orthodontics and dentofacial orthopedics, helping patients of all ages achieve healthier, more balanced smiles. ❤️

🦷✨ MEET DR. ELENA IACOB!

Hi, I’m Dr. Elena Iacob! 👋

You may know me as your orthodontist, but here are a few things you may not know about me! 🦷✨

🎓 I graduated at the top of my class from Loma Linda University School of Dentistry in California in 2006, earning my Doctor of Dental Surgery degree and the Pierre Fauchard Academy Award.

✨ I went on to complete my residency in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics at Loma Linda University, where I also earned my Master of Science.

❤️ I moved to Dallas with my husband in 2008 and have loved making Texas home. The warm hospitality here reminded me of my native country, Romania.

🦷 I love being an orthodontist and helping patients feel confident in their smiles while improving their oral health.

✈️ Outside the office, I enjoy traveling, reading, listening to music, and cooking.

Dr. Iacob is a member of the American Association of Orthodontists, American Dental Association, Texas Dental Association, Dallas County Dental Society, Southwestern Society of Orthodontists, and Omicron Kappa Upsilon Honor Dental Society.

We’re proud to have Dr. Iacob as part of the Smiles By German Design team! ❤️

🦷 HEALTHY GUMS. HEALTHY SMILE.

Your gums do more than support your teeth, they play an important role in your overall oral health.

Bleeding, swollen, tender or receding gums shouldn’t be ignored. These can be signs of gum disease, which is why regular dental visits and taking care of your gums at home are so important.

Our periodontist, Dr. Paul Ezzo, specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of gum disease, helping patients keep their gums healthy and their smiles strong.

Healthy gums are the foundation of a healthy smile. ❤️

Why does a tooth sometimes need a crown instead of a filling? 🦷

It all comes down to how much of the natural tooth remains and how much support it needs. In this video, Dr. Fuhrmann explains the difference and why a crown may be the better option for protecting a weakened tooth.
