As a trauma therapist this is the conversation that is not happening enough in marriages — especially in faith communities.

Unhealed trauma does not stay in the past. It moves into your home and sits at your dinner table.

This is not about blame. This is about healing.

Save this. Share this with someone who needs it. 💛

If this is your marriage — you do not have to keep trying to pour from a cup with a hole in it.

As a trauma therapist I see the consequences of these three mistakes every single week.

Not because parents don’t care.

Because nobody taught us this either.

Save this. Share it with every parent you know. 💛

And drop a 🙋🏽‍♀️ below if you have been guilty of at least one of these — because I know I was before I knew better.

As a trauma therapist the question I get most from parents is not how do I start the conversation.

It’s what do I do when my child asks something I wasn’t ready for.

So here it is. By age. With the exact words to use.

Because your child asking YOU means they trust you. Don’t let that moment pass without the right response.

Save this. You will need it. 💛

As a trauma therapist this is the conversation that breaks my heart every single time.
The abuse is devastating. But being silenced by the people you love most — that is what keeps survivors stuck for years.

As a trauma therapist this is the hardest conversation I have with parents. And the most important.
If a child discloses to you — you will want to know this. Save it. Share it. It could be the most important Reel you ever watched.

As a trauma therapist the number one question I get from parents is how do I protect my child from explicit content online
The honest answer is it starts with conversation
AND the right tools in place.
That post you just watched - save it. Share it.
Have that conversation with your child this week before someone else has it for you.
And if you are looking for a phone solution that gives your child independence without handing them the entire internet was built exactly for this.
No social media. No unrestricted browsing. No open access to strangers.
Just a phone that keeps childhood a little safer for a little longer.

As a trauma therapist I’ve seen what happens when this conversation never happens.
Kids don’t get safer because we stay quiet. They get more vulnerable.
The parent who avoids this topic isn’t a bad parent. They’re a scared one. I get it. Nobody taught us how to have this conversation either.
But here’s what 13 years in the therapy room taught me - children who are taught body safety are more likely to tell. And telling saves lives.
You don’t have to be perfect. You just have to start.
My book The ABCs of Safe and Unsafe Touch gives you the exact words to use - by age, in language your child actually understands.
Day Ones get it first. 💛
