A lifetime of hard work had given Mike Truman severe shoulder pain—and when a March 2018 snowboarding accident caused further damage to the joint, CIO’s Dr. Jamie Kay performed reverse shoulder replacement surgery.
Mike recovered mobility soon after the operation—and today, his eight-year-old shoulder replacement is still letting Mike live the active life he loves.
“I have no problem with my ‘Go Go Gadget’ right arm,” says Mike. “I even have to keep recalibrating my golf clubs because I’ve continued to gain strength.”
When asked what advice he would give those who are living with joint discomfort but putting off orthopedic help, Mike offered a few words of straight-from-the-shoulder advice: “Don’t let the pain hold you back from enjoying life.”
