Wanted to give everyone an update. I was sent home from the hospital on Sunday. So, the good news is that I'm home. I'm out of the office this week (Oct 5-Oct 9). I will be back on Monday (Oct 12) with limited hours because I need to be OFF my foot more than I'm ON my foot. I do have a chiropractor coming to help starting Thursday, October 15th. He will be seeing the majority of the patients until I'm 100% back. I will be in the office off and on. The staff is working on the schedule. So, again, thank you so much for your patience. As soon as we know the schedule, I will open online scheduling again.

Wanted to make a quick post. The hours in the office are going to be a little weird the next few weeks. This week I worked too many hours on my ulcerated foot and landed in the hospital on Thursday morning. They admitted me immediately for what they thought had turned into a bone infection. Luckily, it was just short of that. I have been on IV antibiotics since Thursday afternoon. My WBC count is finally coming down and I'm hoping to go home today. Yesterday the podiatrist said Sunday/Monday. We will see if he changes his mind today. Please be patient with my staff as they have undoubtedly rescheduled you more than once and may again as we have more information.

I assure you I'm doing my best to cover the office and should have some help the week of October 13th. I will be in seeing expectant moms and babies only until my foot heals enough to stand more consistently.

Thank you for your patiece and understanding as I navigate the situation.

Back feeling tight after a long day at your desk? Try these 3 quick fixes today (they take 2 minutes total):

1. Screen at eye level

If you’re looking down, your neck and upper back work overtime. Raise your screen so your eyes hit the top third of the monitor.

2. Support your low back

Sit all the way back in your chair and add a small lumbar roll (or a rolled towel) right at your belt line.

3. Micro-breaks every 30–45 minutes

Stand up, take 10 slow shoulder rolls, and do a gentle backbend stretch for 5–10 seconds.

If your back pain keeps coming back (or you’re getting headaches, stiffness, or tingling), it’s time to find the cause—not just push through it.

If your low back tightens up at your desk, try this 2-minute reset.

Seated pelvic tilts: 10 slow reps

Hip flexor stretch: 30 seconds each side

Shoulder blade squeeze: 10 reps + sit tall

Save this for your next workday flare-up.

If your back pain keeps coming back (or you’re relying on stretching all day just to get through work), let’s get to the root cause. Visit www.munciechiropractic.com or call 765.286.9020.

⚾️ From the Mound to the Midwest: The Heart Behind Canes Midwest ❤️
Just a few years ago, a quiet, overgrown ballpark in Brownsburg, Indiana sat forgotten — empty bleachers, silent fields, and memories fading away.
Today, that same park is alive again — full of laughter, cheering families, and kids chasing their baseball dreams. 🙌
And it’s all thanks to Bill Sampen — former Major League Baseball pitcher and proud owner of Canes Midwest and Samp’s Hack Shack.
Two years ago, Bill bought the abandoned ballpark and completely transformed it. 🌱
✨ Turf now covers every infield.
✨ Facilities are updated and shining.
✨ Families and teams have a place to call home again.
But the best part? You’ll find Bill right in the middle of it all — running the concession stand, chatting with parents, joking with kids, and cheering from the sidelines.
Most of the young players have no idea they’re talking to a former MLB pitcher who once faced some of the game’s greats… and that’s exactly how he likes it. 💬
“We do it because we love the game,” Bill says. “So others can do what they love.”
Beyond the ballpark, Bill runs Samp’s Hack Shack — offering ⚾️ memberships, 💪 lessons, 🧢 team training, 🏕️ camps, and 💥 rentals for baseball and softball players. It’s where hard work meets heart — and where the next generation of athletes is born.
Whether he’s mowing the grass at sunrise or sneaking out to catch a few innings under the lights, Bill Sampen’s love for the game runs deep. ❤️
This Brownsburg ballpark isn’t just a facility — it’s a community comeback story. A place rebuilt by passion, family, and a lifelong love of baseball. ⚾️
🔹 About Bill Sampen
Bill Sampen is a former MLB pitcher who played for the Montreal Expos, Kansas City Royals, and California Angels from 1990–1994.
Today, he owns Canes Midwest and Samp’s Hack Shack in Brownsburg, Indiana — premier spots for baseball and softball training. Bill and his family pour their hearts into giving young athletes the same chance to fall in love with the game that shaped his own life. 💙
👉 Follow Canes Midwest and Samp’s Hack Shack to see what’s new on the fields, upcoming camps, and ways to get involved in this incredible baseball community.
