Tennis elbow doesn't only affect tennis players. It affects anyone whose forearm extensors are overloaded. đź’Ş
Lateral epicondylalgia is the clinical term, and it describes tendon degeneration at the attachment site of the wrist extensor muscles. It's common in manual workers, climbers, lifters, and desk workers who use a mouse all day. The tendon isn't inflamed in the traditional sense. It's degenerated and poorly vascularized, which is why anti-inflammatories and rest produce temporary relief at best. Dry needling to the affected tendon stimulates the healing response the tissue needs.
