Your pain site and your pain source are often two different places.

This is one of the most misunderstood concepts in musculoskeletal care. The hip that aches during squats might be reacting to restricted ankle mobility. The shoulder that flares during lifting might be compensating for a weak rotator cuff on the opposite side. Treating the site alone rarely resolves the pattern.

Our EXSTORE assessment traces the full chain of dysfunction so nothing gets missed. Save this — it changes how you think about every injury.

Your posture at work is creating the injury pattern you'll deal with at the gym.

Sustained desk posture, forward head, rounded thoracic spine, hip flexors in shortened position for 6-8 hours, doesn't reset when you walk into the gym. You bring those patterns to every squat, press, and pull. Your body tries to access ranges of motion it hasn't had all day. Something absorbs the deficit. Understanding this connection is the first step to addressing it.

Drop a 🙋 if this describes your workday and your training week.

Manual workers have athletic injury patterns. They just don't call them that.

Repetitive overhead reaching, sustained grip loading, and prolonged asymmetrical postures create the same muscle inhibition and compensation patterns we see in overhead athletes. Warehouse workers, tradespersons, and laborers develop rotator cuff dysfunction, wrist extensor overload, and lumbar instability from accumulated occupational stress in exactly the same way. The assessment and treatment approach is the same, because the biomechanics are the same.

Tag a tradesperson or manual worker who's been told to "just take ibuprofen and rest."

🌟 Fourteen years of pain. One decision to take back her life.

For 14 years, Megan lived with chronic head, neck, and back pain after a devastating fall during a roller derby event. She tried to push through the pain, but it continued to impact her daily life.

Through a personalized orthopedic acupuncture treatment plan, everything began to change.

Today, Megan is moving better, hurting less, and enjoying life again. Her journey is a powerful reminder that even long-standing pain doesn’t have to be permanent.

Every patient has a different story, but one thing remains the same: the body has an incredible capacity to heal when given the right stimulus.

Thank you, Megan, for trusting me to be part of your recovery. Your determination and commitment have been inspiring, and I’m honored to have helped you reclaim your quality of life.

If you’ve been living with chronic pain for months—or even years—don’t assume it’s something you have to accept. There may be another path forward.

Wrist pain in weightlifters is one of the most under-assessed injuries in the gym. 💡

The wrist joint is stabilized by a complex network of ligaments, tendons, and intercarpal articulations. In lifters, it commonly develops under excessive radial deviation during barbell movements, grip fatigue in high-rep workouts, or accumulated stress from the front rack position.

Most wrist pain in lifters responds well to targeted soft tissue mobilization, dry needling to the wrist extensors and flexors, and specific corrective loading strategies that restore joint stability without eliminating training.

Tag a lifter who's been taping their wrists before every session hoping it'll hold things together.

Soft tissue mobilization isn't deep tissue massage with a fancier name. 🎯

The Graston Technique uses stainless steel instruments to detect and treat scar tissue, fascial restrictions, and areas of chronic fibrosis that hands alone can't identify as precisely. The instruments create a controlled micro-inflammatory response that stimulates the body's repair mechanisms in tissue that has become fibrotic and disorganized. For athletes with recurring strain sites, this is often the missing piece.

🤝 Collaboration leads to better patient outcomes.

One of the greatest compliments I can receive is the trust of another healthcare provider.

After caring for one of Dr. Laura Bellows’ patients, she shared this message:

“It exceeded our expectations. He came out with no pain. He now has a slight burning sensation. Most of the swelling is gone… Thanks for caring and the referral.”

Messages like these remind me why I love what I do. My goal has always been to provide the highest level of orthopedic acupuncture care while working alongside other healthcare professionals who share the same passion for helping patients heal.

Dr. Laura, thank you for your trust, your collaboration, and for caring so deeply about your patients. It is truly an honor to be part of their healing journey with you. I look forward to many more adventures together as we continue serving our community and helping people move, feel, and live better.

Together, we are stronger. Together, our patients win. 💙

Acupuncture and dry needling are not alternatives to Western medicine. They're additions to it.

At LOSA, Moses's dual credentials as an NCCAOM-certified acupuncturist and Registered Professional Nurse mean that every treatment decision is informed by both Eastern and Western clinical frameworks. Orthopedic acupuncture is most effective when it's integrated with corrective exercise and, where appropriate, coordinated with other providers in your care team. The goal is better outcomes, not a replacement for every other intervention.

Follow us for evidence-based education on what integrated orthopedic care looks like.
