My cousin Dale Hamlin came to live with me, Dennis Hamlin and my friend Don on our little farm in Munfordville, KY over a year ago, after a stay in the hospital in Bowling Green. Dale struggled with several physical issues. He enjoyed holding the little goats when they were born. Also interacting with our 5 dogs and mini horse “Ossie”. Dale enjoyed watching programs about classic cars and Truck. He enjoyed sitting on the porch swing, in the sun and listening to music and drinking Mountain Dew. We spent many hours talking and reconnecting after not seeing each other for over 50 years. Dale and his sister Cindy came from Chicago to North Dakota and spent one summer with us on the farm when we were little kids. We had a great time riding my grandfather’s friendly cow “Trixy”. It’s been an honor to get to know him. Dale has lived in California, Texas, Florida, Illnois and Kentucky. He worked on farms and in factories. Dale married Donna and adopted 2 children who grew to love him deeply. He is loved as Daddy and Grandpa. The have expressed how Dale “Dad” taught them many good things about life and that Dale lived a life of high morals. Dale had strong convictions about life and how people should treat each other. I enjoyed long conversations with him.

My dear friend and cousin, Dale Hamlin went to Heaven at 9:30am on April 21, 2026, in Munfordville, KY. He is the son of Chuck and Deloris Hamlin. Born August 11, 1958, in Chicago, IL. His dearest “Friend” in the world was his sister Cindy Hamlin who went to Heaven September 18, 1980, after a motorcycle accident. Losing Cindy was very difficult for Dale.

Dale will be missed by his blood family and married family. Dale is missed greatly by his married family, Donna Hamlin, her children Terry Leneave & Robert Hamlin, grandchildren Michael, Dustin & Tyler Blankenship. By his sister Patti Hardin and brothers Chuck & Terry Hamlin. By his aunt’s Louella Howe, Wanda Zito and Arlene Hamlin. His uncle Cecil Hamlin & wife Gloria. His cousins Dee Millard, Shirley Whited, David Franklin, Judy Zito, Rod Gas, Paul Franklin, Randy King, Scottie Hamlin, Dennis Hamlin, Hope Wagler, Kevin Hamlin & Joy Hamlin.

Dale’s journey has brought him down many roads. Some were “Wonderful” and others difficult. Dale tried to always have a good attitude towards what life threw at him and put things into an honest perspective. Let us all rejoice that Dale’s name is written in the Book of Life that is in Heaven. Dale, enjoy your reunion with family in Heaven and walking and talking with Jesus Christ our Redeemer, now free of Pain and Sorrow. We love and miss you.

Dale’s urn will be brought to Sheldon, Illinois where he will rest in peace beside his best friend and sister Cindy Lee Hamlin.
