Munster Orthopaedic Institute, LLC Munster Orthopaedic Institute is a medical practice focusing on comprehensive musculoskeletal care. Specialties include Orthopedics, Podiatry & PT.

Prior to the existence of Munster Orthopedic Institute (MOI), Dr. Jeffrey Tioco worked in Northwest Indiana for 6 years with another group of Orthopedic Surgeons. In 2007, he decided to venture off and establish his own individual practice. Initially, his office started off very small and simple at 7550 Hohman Avenue in Munster, Indiana, along with an additional and still existing location in St.

John, Indiana. Damage from the flood in September of 2008 resulted in a relocation of the Hohman office to rented space inside Community Hospital for 2 years. In 2010, Dr. Tioco was able to purchase MOI’s new home and now permanent location at 9132 and 9136 Columbia Avenue. Previously an aged medical office building, the entire office was reconstructed to be a new, state of the art Orthopedic facility. The expansion of the new office incorporates a digital x-ray machine, a cast room, an ultrasound therapy room, eight patient care exam rooms, physical therapy and billing administration. For comprehensive musculoskeletal care, the expansion of the company has also welcomed a Podiatrist, Dr. Michael D. Dichoso and a Physical Therapist, Joanna Dudek, to the MOI family. Christina Graham, Dr. Tioco's Nurse Practioner, has been with the Practice since 2007. Here's a little information about each provider:

Dr. Jeffrey Tioco provides surgical and non-surgical approaches to the treatment of various conditions of the upper and lower extremities. Commonly performed procedures include knee and shoulder arthroscopy, ACL reconstruction, rotator cuff repair, carpal tunnel release, fracture care and total joint replacement of the shoulder, hip and knee. Dr. Michael Dichoso specializes in the treatment of foot and ankle diseases. His goal is helping patients return to their daily activities with a conservative approach, utilizing surgical options if necessary. Christina Graham assists Dr. Tioco in providing optimal orthopedic care which includes, but is not limited to: ordering and interpretting tests, performing minor procedures, prescription authorization, injection therapies, fracture care and preoperative/postoperative teaching. Joanna Dudek, our Physical Therapist, implements rehabilitation strategies. These involve specific exercises to strengthen muscles, relieve pain, improve range of motion and increase endurance, amongst other benefits. The equipment and machines at MOI allow us to work with patients’ upper/lower extremities and spine, as well as focus on balance and stretching techniques.
