Sometimes life feels like you are caught in raging waters or overtaken by powerful enemies who take you down when you are at your weakest point. Enemies such as:
--Doubts, fears, illness, financial debt,a child's learning development, strained relationships, media, bad influences, public education, worldview, political unrest, and so many more
Know that the Lord is your "stay"' your support, He reaches down and rescues you, because He delights in you--He loves you.

The criteria for coming to Jesus is weariness. Come overwhelmed with life. Come with your wondering mind. Come messy.

I remember singing this song in church when I was a young girl - it always filled me with hope and it still does today.

Jesus is Coming Soon.
“Troublesome times are here, filling men's hearts with fear
Freedom we all hold dear now is at stake
Humbling your hearts to God saves from the chastening rod
Seek the way pilgrims trod, Christians awake

Jesus is coming soon, morning or night or noon
Many will meet their doom, trumpets will sound
All of the dead shall rise, righteous meet in the skies
Going where no one dies, heavenward bound

Troubles will soon be o'er, happy forevermore
When we meet on that shore, free from all care
Rising up in the sky, telling this world goodbye
Homeward we then shall fly, glory to share

Oh, Jesus is coming soon, morning or night or noon
Many will meet their doom, trumpets will sound
All of the dead shall rise, righteous meet in the skies
Going where no one dies, heaven”

If you are a list maker, you will love David. He was a list maker too. Here is David's list of the good things we should never forget God has done. From Psalms 103

1. God forgives all your sins
2. Heals all your diseases
3. Rescues your life from the pit
4. Crowns you with love and compassion
5. Satisfies your desires with good things
6. Does what is right and fair for the oppressed.
7. Is compassionate, merciful, and patient
8. Always forgives

Loving someone does not mean allowing them to keep harming you.

I've talked with so many women in emotionally destructive marriages who have been told that if they just loved their husband better, prayed harder, extended more grace, things would change. That enduring the harm was the loving, biblical thing to do.
That is not biblical love. That is a distortion of it.

Biblical love speaks truth even when it's unwelcome. It exposes darkness rather than covering for it. Ephesians 5:11 tells us to have nothing to do with the fruitless deeds of darkness but rather expose them. That is not harsh. That is love with backbone.

Jesus loved everyone, including his enemies. And yet he confronted sin directly. He allowed consequences to fall. He walked away from those who wanted to harm him. He did not give everyone equal access to his presence simply because he loved them.
Love is not the same as access. Forgiveness is not the same as trust. And staying in harm's way is not the same as faithfulness.

If this is a distinction you've needed someone to make clearly, save this and share it with someone else who needs to hear it too.
