We had a busy week, capped off by an excellent dining experience at our local Bonefish restaurant. Everyone loved the food, and the service was top-notch. Chef Barbara's skills were spot on for breakfast on National Omelette Day as she crafted exceptional, made-to-order omelets for breakfast. Thank you, Barbara, for the treat.👍

We take great pride in honoring Eddy Davenport, one of the Village's distinguished long-term residents, who has lived here for more than seven years. A Murfreesboro native, Eddy met his wife, Ina Sue, in their hometown when she was 14 and he was 17, and after a four-year wait, they married when she turned 18. A fun fact is that her father, who was a minister, actually married them. The couple shared 46 years together, blessed with two daughters, Renee and Kimberly, and two grandchildren, Jack and Anna Grace. Eddy served honorably in the military reserves for eight years. Professionally, Eddy had roles in a printing company and Chromalox before dedicating over 27 years to General Electric. His leisure activities included golf, tennis, and taking his family canoeing. Eddy was actually on one of the first Little League baseball teams in Murfreesboro. He says an exciting thing he and his wife did was take a ride on the Goodyear blimp. He also really loves classic westerns; he used to go to the Princess Theatre here in town to watch them. Despite losing his eye sight to retinitis pigmentosa at 77, Eddy remains steadfast. Eddy has a lot of knowledge, and always gets our trivia questions correct 👍His advice to the younger generation is to try to have patience and enjoy life. He was definitely influenced by his mom and dad , they were great role models and Eddy says  patience is one of his strongest features. We're thrilled Eddy is a part of the Villages family, where he's found community and affection. Eddy is 87 years young and a huge part of our lives❤️

This Wednesday was packed full of fun. We started the day with exercise with Melissa, then we had an amazing salad buffet with every kind of topping and assorted desserts, followed by canvas painting with Laura and Mona, and we ended our great day with the amazing sounds of Ross Moore on his guitar. Another fantastic day at The Villages‼️

On this Memorial Day, we honor the courageous men and women who have served our country. We are proud to unveil our Wall of Honor, which pays tribute to our residents who are veterans. Everyone worked hard to unveil this during Memorial Day weekend. We would like to express our heartfelt appreciation to our dedicated staff who worked on Memorial Day to make this celebration possible. A special thank you to Barbara and her amazing staff for preparing delicious ribs and all the fixings, to Melissa for decorating and capturing all the memories, and to John Wayne for playing Taps for us again this year.🇺🇸

A wonderful time was had by all while planting a variety of coleus plants, thanks to the expert guidance of the optimistic garden club members. We appreciate the ladies' enthusiasm and the knowledge they shared about these stunning plants, including tips on winter care. Their presentation was engaging, and we are grateful for the opportunity to learn from them. Each guest left with a beautiful coleus plant they had planted, and we look forward to the club's next visit.🌸

Mondays can be marvelous when you have Melissa organizing a trip to Wendy's. The Frosties were hard to refuse‼️ Since the weather was so beautiful, when we returned, we decided to play a round of mini golf. It looks like we have some serious golfers among us and maybe a hole in one or two. Appreciation goes out to Stephanie from Caris Hospice for providing yummy snacks and helping us with our golf game.
