🩺 CONDITION OF THE WEEK: SCIATICA 🩻
Have you ever felt a sharp, burning, or shooting pain that travels from your lower back down into your buttock and leg? You may be experiencing sciatica.
The sciatic nerve is the largest nerve in the body, running from the lower back down through the hips and buttocks and into each leg. When that nerve becomes irritated or compressed, it can cause symptoms such as:
🔹 Lower back pain
🔹 Pain that travels down the leg
🔹 Numbness or tingling
🔹 Burning or “pins and needles” sensations
🔹 Weakness in the leg or foot
What causes sciatica?
Common causes include a herniated or bulging disc, spinal changes, muscle tension, or other conditions that put pressure on the sciatic nerve.
💡 The good news: Sciatica can often be managed with the right approach. Chiropractic care may help address underlying spinal and musculoskeletal issues, improve mobility, and reduce irritation affecting the nerve.
If you're dealing with pain that travels from your lower back into your leg, don't just push through it. Our team can help determine what may be contributing to your symptoms and discuss appropriate care options.
