We continue to be astounded by the support and love from the community! Yesterday was a wonderful market and it energizes our week to see so many friends and smiling faces.
We found our first tomato hornworms of the season this week on our outdoor plants, so now is a great time to start checking your tomatoes each evening.
These large green caterpillars can strip the plant surprisingly fast, leaving a tomato plant looking bare overnight.
The best time to spot them is at dusk or after dark when they’re actively feeding. Check stem and leafs for damage and droppings. They blend in so they can be really difficult to spot. They’re all bark and no bite, as their little “stinger” is just for intimidation.
As always, if you have any questions about your tomato plants, send us a message. We’re happy to help.
