Donald B Wilson, age 69 of Shelbyville, TN, peacefully entered into rest on October 20, 2026, surrounded by the family he spent his life protecting and loving. He was a man of quiet strength, fierce integrity, and unconditional love.

A proud veteran of the United States Army, Donald served his country with honor for 10 years achieving the rank of Sergeant E-6. The values of discipline, duty, and sacrifice he sharpened in the military guided him throughout his civilian life. Following his honorable discharge, he carried that same exceptional work ethic in his career as a Maintenance Mechanic for 40 years. He believed in an honest day’s work, providing a secure, stable, and warm home where his family always felt safe.

But above all his accomplishments, Donald’s greatest joy and proudest legacy was his family. He was the deeply beloved husband of Melissa, with whom he shared 39 beautiful years of marriage built on partnership, mutual respect and deep affection. As a father, he was a steady anchor – always patient, giving, and protective. He taught his children by example, showing them what it truly means to be a person of honor, selflessness, and love. Which is why he will always be remembered by his girls for how he taught them what love is supposed to look like by loving their momma selflessly, patiently and unconditionally every single day.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Melissa; his children, Rebecca Smith, Brittanie (Joey) McClure, Mary Potts, and Aleah (Jessie) Potts; his grandchildren DaKoda Smith, Autumn Heath, and Madison McClure; his bonus children Candice Bradley and Tosha Gale Guthrie; his brother Walter R Wilson; and his fellow veterans, family, and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents Anna and Walter H Wilson; his sisters Pamela Wilson and Samantha Lavka; and his grandchild baby McClure.

The family welcomes family and friends to join them for visitation services on October 21, 2026, from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at Murfreesboro Funeral Home. A celebration of his life with military honors will be held on October 22, 2026, at 10:00 with service to follow at 2:00 pm.

William Wright Grimes Jr., affectionately known as “Billy” or “Bill,” passed away on October 12, 2026, following a brief illness.

Bill was born on March 29, 1959, in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, to William and Dorothy Grimes. He attended Shaw High School in Mobile, Alabama, graduating in 1977.

In his younger years, Bill was a talented baseball player who played under Coach Eddie Stanky at the University of South Alabama. His love of sports and coastal living remained a defining part of his life.

He later became the owner of Hot Tropics, a coastal lifestyle, surf, and skate shop that would leave a lasting mark on skateboarding history. In April 1986, Hot Tropics organized Southern Fried Shred, an indoor skateboarding competition held in an airplane hangar at Brookley Field in Mobile, Alabama. The event brought Tony Hawk and other notable skateboarders to Mobile, becoming a memorable moment in the local skateboarding community.

Bill was also a published author. His book of Christian poetry, I Am And i, copyrighted in March 2005, reflected his creativity and faith.

Above all his accomplishments and the many roles he held throughout his life, Bill treasured being a father. His children, Sarah, Will, Elijah, and Hana, along with his stepson, Trey, were the light of his life and his greatest source of pride and joy. His love for his family was at the heart of who he was, and the memories they shared will remain a lasting part of his legacy.

Bill was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Wilbur W. Grimes and Bessie Sue Heaton Grimes; his maternal grandparents, James A. McBryde Jr. and Dorothy O’Gwynn McBryde; and his uncles, Jerry Grimes and Freddie H. Jones.

He is survived by his parents, William and Dorothy Grimes; his wife, Brittany; his children, Sarah Nisewonger (John), Will (Des), Hana, and Elijah; his stepson, Trey; and his grandchildren, Natalie, Lincoln, and Barrett Nisewonger, who brought him great joy. He is also survived by his two sisters, Lisa Robinson (Chris) and Leslie McElroy (Johnnie); his three beloved nephews, Kyle, Brett, and Ben; and numerous aunts, cousins, and extended family members who will continue to cherish his memory.

Bill will be deeply missed by his wife, children, parents, sisters, nephews, aunts, cousins and all who had the privilege of knowing and loving him. Though his passing leaves an immeasurable void, his family finds comfort in their faith and in the promise of Heaven. They rejoice in the hope of eternal life, holding close the assurance that love never ends and that the bonds shared in this life endure beyond it.

Visitation with the family will be held at Murfreesboro Funeral Home on Sunday, October 25, 2026, from 1:00pm - 2:30pm with a Celebration of Life service to follow. Pastor Bob Bush will be officiating.

Brandan Anthony Colasanti, age 26 of Lebanon, TN passed away at home on Saturday, October 10, 2026.

He was born July 7, 2000, in Colorado Springs, CO to Donato and Karyn Colasanti.

Brandan is survived by his parents, Donato (Dan) and Karyn Colasanti; brother, Tanner Colasanti; sister, Liana Colasanti; paternal grandmother, Zenia Colasanti; and maternal grandparents, Doug and Kathryn Shipley.

Brandan was very charismatic, passionate, and loved hard. He had a wonderful upbringing and had always been surrounded by family, friends, and loved ones. Despite this, he sadly walked through this life with his own grief and he ultimately felt alone. He died on his own terms and is now getting the rest he had longed for greatly. He is and will be missed dearly by the many people in his life that loved him!

Visitation with the family will be held at Murfreesboro Funeral Home on Friday, October 23, 2026, from 1:00pm - 3:00pm with the Celebration of Life service to follow. Interment will be at Miller’s Cemetery in Christiana, TN with Pastor Ben Curtis officiating.

Daniel Steven Goodwin, age 67, of Murfreesboro, TN passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 6, 2026, surrounded by his loved ones.

He was born on September 20, 1959, in Biloxi, MS at Keesler Air Force Base to Robert and Maralyn Goodwin.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Daniel and Maralyn Farley Goodwin.

Dan is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Debbie Goodwin; sons, Hunter Goodwin of Chattanooga, TN; Connor Goodwin of Murfreesboro, TN; daughter, Heather Goodwin of Murfreesboro, TN; grandson, Mason Watson; and brother, Jason (Mary Bolgeo) Goodwin; niece, Amelia Goodwin; and nephew, Nate Goodwin all of Colorado.

Visitation with the family will be held at Murfreesboro Funeral Home on Saturday, October 24, 2026, from 2:00pm – 6:00pm with a Celebration of Life service to follow. Pastor Bob Bush will be officiating.

Dan’s commitment to service began with the United States Air Force, where he served with the Electronic Warfare Department in Lockheed-Martin/Skunkworks on the SR-71 Blackbird and the U2 Dragonlady spy planes from 1977 until 1981. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Journalism from Middle Tennessee State University, where he was a member and eventually became President of the Sigma Chi fraternity.

From 1986 until 1992, he served as Police Reporter and City Editor for the Daily News Journal. During this time, he also served as an adjunct faculty member in the School of Journalism at Middle Tennessee State University from 1987 until 1994.

In 1992, Dan began his career with the Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office as a Deputy in the Patrol Division. In 1993, he became one of the first School Resource Officers in the state of Tennessee following the establishment of the Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office SRO program.

Throughout his career with the Sheriff’s Office, Sgt. Goodwin served in several areas, including Crime Suppression, Criminal Investigations the Warrants Division, Detectives Division and Narcotics Division. He was also among the agency’s original cold case detectives. Working alongside his partner at the time, Sgt. Goodwin helped solve eight homicide cold cases and a 20-year-old kidnapping case.

Sgt. Goodwin was recognized as Officer of the Year in 2002 following the solving of his first major cold case. He was again named Officer of the Year in 2015. In 2023, Sgt. Goodwin was honored during the 30th anniversary celebration of the Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office School Resource Officer Division.

Sgt. Goodwin also served as a fi****ms instructor and as a Public Information Officer for the Sheriff’s Office. He was a trusted and respected representative of the agency and played an important role in communicating with the public and the media during significant events.

His professional accomplishments extended beyond his military and law enforcement careers. From 1995 until 2013, Dan worked as a freelance writer and photographer for Harris Publications, where he wrote regular articles for the magazine, Guns and Weapons for Law Enforcement. He also briefly stepped away from law enforcement to serve as Media Relations Manager for Barrett Fi****ms.

Dan’s career was marked by a commitment to service, communication, and the communities he served. From his service in the United States Air Force, to his years in journalism and education, and ultimately his distinguished career with the Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office, he dedicated much of his life to serving others.

Sgt. Dan Goodwin lived a life of service to his family, friends and community.
