PTSD often develops after a traumatic event and may involve flashbacks, nightmares, avoidance, and feeling constantly on alert.
CPTSD can develop after prolonged or repeated trauma, especially when escape feels difficult. It includes PTSD symptoms, along with struggles involving emotional regulation, self-worth, and relationships.
