GeroPsych continues to grow!

We’re proud to announce several new behavioral health partnerships across Kansas and Missouri as we continue expanding support for residents, families, and care teams throughout the post-acute setting.

New GeroPsych partnerships include:
• Brookside Retirement Community – Overbrook, KS
• Fort Scott Presbyterian Village – Fort Scott, KS
• The Welstone At Mission Crossing – Mission, KS
• Brookdale Wornall Place – Kansas City, MO

These partnerships help bring greater access to behavioral health services within senior living and post-acute communities through an interdisciplinary, resident-centered approach to care.

As the need for geriatric behavioral health services continues to grow, we remain committed to supporting communities through meaningful clinical partnerships and expanded access to care.

Yes — we hire new grads!

Starting your career can feel overwhelming, but the right environment makes all the difference. At Key Rehab, we believe new graduate PTs, OTs, SLPs, PTAs, and COTAs deserve strong mentorship, real collaboration, and opportunities to grow with confidence.

From day one, our teams work together to support clinical development, strengthen decision-making skills, and help new clinicians build meaningful careers in post-acute and senior living settings.

Your degree got you here. The right team helps you grow from here.

If you’re getting ready to launch your therapy career, we’d love to connect.

Turns out healthcare leaders make pretty good superheroes too.

The Key Rehab team brought the energy to the Nebraska Health Care Association’s Boom! Bam! Birdies! Golf Tournament in Lincoln, NE—showing up in full superhero style for a day focused on connection, community, and supporting long-term care across Nebraska.

Sometimes building strong teams means stepping away from the day-to-day, having some fun, and showing up together.

Mental health care continues to evolve.

During Mental Health Awareness Month, there is growing national attention on new approaches to treating complex behavioral health conditions—including recent federal action aimed at accelerating research into psychedelic-assisted therapies.

Recent policy changes are focused on expanding clinical research and access pathways for treatments targeting conditions such as depression, PTSD, and other serious mental health disorders.

While these therapies are still under study, the conversation reflects a broader shift in how behavioral health is being approached—especially for individuals who have not responded to traditional treatments.

At GeroPsych, we recognize that mental health care is not one-size-fits-all. Our focus remains on:

• Evidence-based behavioral health services
• Interdisciplinary collaboration in post-acute settings
• Supporting residents through individualized, person-centered care

As the field continues to evolve, staying informed and grounded in clinical best practices remains essential.

Jenn L., Area Sales Representative, recently joined residents and staff at Brookdale Wornall Place for a Memorial Day gathering focused on honoring service members, remembering loved ones who have passed, and spending meaningful time together as a community.

The event concluded with a happy hour and plenty of shared stories, laughter, and connection.

One special moment came from outpatient resident Jim, who gave Key Rehab a thumbs up and shared how thankful he is for the therapy services provided for both himself and his wife. Jim joked that he is excited to return to therapy because the Key team gives him the push he would not do on his own.

Moments like these are a reminder that strong therapy partnerships are about more than treatment sessions. They are about relationships, encouragement, and helping people continue doing the things that matter most.

Good conversations start with strong partnerships.

Loren, Director of Clinical Solutions & Consulting, represented Key Rehab last week at the Care Providers Assisted Living Conference, connecting with assisted living leaders and discussing ways our therapy and consulting services can support resident independence, clinical outcomes, and quality of life.

As assisted living communities continue evolving, collaboration between operators and clinical partners remains more important than ever.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by the Key Rehab table to connect.

This Memorial Day, we honor and remember the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country.

Their sacrifice secured the freedoms we enjoy today, and we pause in gratitude for those who gave everything.

From all of us at Key Rehab, we remember and honor those who served with courage and selflessness.

Sometimes the best outcomes happen when therapy feels less like work and more like possibility.

The therapy team at Brookdale Senior Living Wornall recently shared Sandra’s success story after she began participating in pool therapy earlier this spring.

Sandra initially came to therapy experiencing right shoulder pain, back pain, and arthritic knee pain. Having always loved the water, she was excited to explore aquatic therapy as part of her rehabilitation journey.

Through consistent pool therapy sessions, the Key Rehab team focused on:
• reducing joint strain
• improving balance and gait mechanics
• increasing strength and range of motion
• building cardiovascular endurance

Since beginning therapy, Sandra has made significant progress with shoulder strength, reduced pain, improved mobility, and increased independence entering and exiting the pool.

But perhaps her favorite outcome?

Sandra shared that this is the most fun she has ever had doing physical therapy.

Stories like this remind us that meaningful therapy is not just about reducing pain. It is about helping people reconnect with activities they enjoy while improving confidence, function, and quality of life.
