A horse can’t tell you where it hurts, but they’ll show you.

Sometimes it looks like:
• refusing a lead
• short striding
• tossing their head
• feeling heavy one direction
• quitting earlier than normal
• acting “lazy” or irritated under saddle

A lot of horses try to work through discomfort long before it becomes something obvious.

That’s why I focus on:
Equine massage therapy
Conditioning & strengthening
Recovery and mobility support
Helping horses move more comfortably and perform with less tension and restriction.

👇 What’s one subtle thing your horse does when they’re not feeling 100%?

I’ll be there if anyone needs pre-run work!

3 signs your horse is sore- even if they’re still working.

A lot of horses will keep going even when something doesn’t feel right.

1. Stiff at the start & “warms out of it”
If your horse starts off tight but feels better after a few minutes, that’s not them “working out the kinks”, that’s usually soreness.

2. Better one direction than the other
Dropping a shoulder, not wanting to bend, or feeling uneven side to side can point to tightness or imbalance.

3. Quitting sooner than usual
Not finishing runs, losing energy quicker, or just not feeling as willing can be physical—not always attitude.

Most of the time, these things show up before anything obvious.

I focus on keeping horses comfortable, balanced, and moving correctly so these things don’t lead to larger issues.

This older gelding tends to get stiff through the poll, tight in the hips, & a little off balance when he moves

Nothing dramatic, but enough to affect how he feels and works

Over time, that kind of tightness can turn into:
• resistance
• uneven movement
• bigger issues if it’s ignored

This is part of what I focus on with my work—helping horses stay comfortable, balanced, and able to move the way they should.

Message me to schedule massage therapy & conditioning!

✨ Why Equine Massage Matters ✨

Just like us, our horses can get sore, tight, and uncomfortable from their daily work. Whether they’re running barrels, sorting cattle, trail riding, or just being a pasture pet, their muscles do a lot more than we realize.

Regular massage can help:
• Loosen tight muscles
• Improve flexibility and range of motion
• Increase circulation
• Reduce stress and tension
• Support faster recovery after hard work

It’s not just for performance horses either—older horses, horses coming back from time off, or even those with minor stiffness can benefit too.

If your horse has been feeling a little off, short-strided, or just not quite themselves, it might be time to give them the extra care they deserve🌷
