Jimmy Dale “Jim” Overbey, Sr., 76, of Murray, KY, passed away Thursday, June 11, 2026 at Murray-Calloway County Hospital in Murray.

Born May 4, 1950, in Murray, KY, Jim was the beloved son of the late Lawrence Overbey and Betty (Murphy) Morris. He proudly and honorably served his country in the United States Army, was a dedicated member of the Patriot Guard and a member of Grace Baptist Church.

Jim enjoyed spending time with family and friends, especially his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He will be remembered for his unwavering faith, and keen sense of humor. Jim was a heavy-duty transmission specialist, working at Paschall Truck Lines and Murray International.

Those left to cherish memories of Jim include his wife of 53 years, Martha (Eldridge) Overbey of Murray, KY; his sons, Jimmy Overbey, Jr, wife Renae of Murray, KY and Robert Overbey, wife Lucy of Dexter, KY; four grandchildren, Cortney Davis of Benton, KY, Jimmy Odell Overbey of Murray, KY, Mattie Overbey of Lone Oak, KY, and Molly Overbey of Murray, KY; two great-grandchildren, Mason Lane and Daisy Davis. He is also survived by his nieces; Lisa Jackson, Tammy Merrell and Emily Overbey.

In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his brothers, Larry Overbey, Ricky Overbey and Gary Overbey.

A funeral service will be conducted Saturday, June 13, 2026 in the chapel of the Blalock-Coleman Funeral Home with Rev. Kim Reeder officiating. Burial with full military honors, by VFW Post 6291 Honor Guard, will follow the service at Barnett Cemetery.

Friends may visit with the family on Saturday, June 13, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. until the service hour of 11:00 a.m. at the Blalock-Coleman Funeral Home, 713 S. 4th St., Murray, KY 42071.

Michael Lee Baker, 74, of Murray, Kentucky, passed away Tuesday, June 2, 2026, surrounded by his loving family at home.

Born September 16, 1951, in Michigan City, Indiana, Michael was the son of the late John Thomas Baker and Daisy (Jenkins) Baker. He honorably and proudly served his country in the United States Army and was an avid outdoorsman. Michael found great joy in serving others through his talent as a chef, and his passion for cooking was evident in every dish he prepared as he brought family and friends together to share meals, stories, and laughter around the table. Having worked as a sous chef for much of his career, his most recent venture was owner of Backwoods Grillin’ Time on Pottertown Road in Murray.

Those left to cherish memories of Michael include his wife of 47 ½ years, Tammy Marie (Block) Baker of Murray; his beloved children, Gwendolen Annette Baker of Cadiz, KY, Phenicia Eileen (Brandon) McKinney of Orlando, FL, Brittania Marie (Ryan) Seeker of St. Louis, MO, Michelle Lee Baker of Murray, and Joe Baker of Colorado; a brother, John Baker, Jr.; sisters, Carolyn Perry, Shirley Milzarek, and Linda Baker; and his precious grandchildren, Jayden, Kayden, Keiera, Austin, Jaxon, Kamren, Micah, and Alicia.

In addition to his parents, Michael was also preceded in death by his sister, Cathi Slater.

A funeral service will be held on Sunday, June 7, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Blalock-Coleman Funeral Home. John Dale will officiate. Burial will immediately follow the service at Barnett Cemetery in Murray, with Ryan Seeker, Brandon McKinney, Kamren Baker, Todd Milzarek and Micah Baker serving as pallbearers.

Friends may visit with the family between the hours of 1:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. at the at Blalock-Coleman Funeral Home, 713 S. 4th St., Murray, KY 42071.

The family requests that donations, in memory of Michael, be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 6704, Hagerstown, MD 21741.

Charles Duane “Charlie” Stanley, 68, of Hazel, KY, passed away Sunday, May 31, 2026, at his home.

Born June 21, 1957, in Anderson, IN, Charlie was the beloved son of the late Don and Ula “Wilma” (Hendron) Stanley. He was a respected welder by trade, but enjoyed working for his son at Greenline Lawn & Landscaping for the past several years.

Charlie enjoyed spending time with family and friends, especially his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He also found joy in the open road while riding his motorcycle, but equally enjoyed recliner time with his precious pup Alley. He will be remembered for his generous heart and keen sense of humor. Charlie’s legacy of love, strength, and devotion will continue through the lives he impacted.

Those left to cherish memories of Charlie include his wife of 47 years, Cynthia June (Pelfrey) Stanley of Hazel, KY; Albert (Lisa) Pelfrey of CA, Charliene (Ray) Reynolds of Murray, KY, Charles Duane (Christi) Stanley, Jr. of Murray, KY, and Jason Daniel (Holly) of Paducah, KY; siblings, Darcy Gregory, Rachel Moore, Donetta Whitt, Tony Stanley, Kenneth Stanley, and Shanda Stanley; as well as his much loved 20 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Charlie was preceded in death by his siblings, Dora Young and David Stanley, and a grandson, Aiden Stanley.

Friends may visit with the family on Tuesday, June 2, 2026, between the hours of 2:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. at Blalock-Coleman Funeral Home, 713 S. 4th St., Murray, KY 42071.

Mr. Paul James Matthai, 79 of New Concord, Kentucky, passed away Wednesday, May 13, 2026, at the Anna Mae Owen Residential Hospice House in Murray.

Born October 31, 1946, in Nashville, Tennessee, Paul was the son of the late Dr. James Paul Matthai and Dora Faye (Burt) Matthai. He was a proud graduate of Murray State University and was retired from the City of Murray Bee Creek Wastewater Treatment Plant.

Those left to cherish memories of Paul include his loving wife, Mingqin Hu of New Concord, KY; his sister, Claudia Carson of Hazel, KY; nephews, Jason (Vadessa) Carson of Kirksey, KY and Seth (Shannon) Carson of Boaz, KY; nieces, Darcie (Chris) Liddle and Rebecca (Mitch) Lily, both of Hazel, KY. Also surviving are great nieces and nephews, Ethan Carson, Elle Carson, Aiden Carson, Matthew Carson, Colby Liddle, Tanner Liddle, Tyler Lilly, and Sadie Lilly.

In addition to his parents, Paul was preceded in death by his stepmother, Hazel Cowin Matthai.

Graveside services will be conducted Monday, May 18, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. in the Murray Memorial Gardens, Murray, KY with Sean Yang officiating. Burial will follow the service.
