Food allergy treatment isn’t going to move forward because one group has all the answers.

It’s going to move forward when researchers, clinicians, industry, and patient communities stop working in separate lanes and start working together.

Because real-world medicine matters and every patient is different. 🩺

Food allergy treatment was never just about peanut flour. 🥜

For families avoiding milk, egg, wheat, and other everyday foods, fear often showed up everywhere, birthday parties, school lunches, family vacations, and even simple meals with friends.

The real goal of treatment isn’t a specific product. It’s giving children and families more freedom, more confidence, and more normal moments.

The question isn’t whether desensitization can work, we know it can. The bigger questions are how to make it safer, more accessible, more affordable, and more patient-centered for the families who need it most.

Dilation of the esophagus can provide short-term relief for narrowing, but it doesn’t address what’s actually driving the problem.

Saying “we’ll just dilate it again when it comes back” may help in the moment, but it risks missing the bigger picture.

Esophageal narrowing is a symptom, not the root cause.

Real treatment means stepping back and asking:
Is this being driven by a food trigger? 🥛🍞
Is there an environmental component? 🍃
Is reflux playing a role?

From there, care should be individualized and often combines dietary changes, medication therapy, and shared decision-making between patient and clinician.

The goal isn’t just to temporarily open the esophagus, it’s to understand why it narrowed in the first place and reduce the chance it keeps happening.

Did you know that Dairy and Gluten are the two most common foods that trigger EOE?🥛🍞

Not every food reaction is a true allergy and understanding the difference matters.

The healthcare debate usually turns into politics. But patients don’t experience healthcare as politics.

They experience it as:
• wait times
• cost
• access
• trust
• outcomes
• feeling heard

The truth is, every healthcare system has tradeoffs. The problem is when we stop having honest conversations about them.🗣️

What do you think healthcare gets most RIGHT and most WRONG right now?🩺🏥
