"Living with ADHD is punishment enough without baking it into a behavioral program." Dr. David Nowell. His approach to support for ADD, which can be modified for Autism and other challenges, is to build our behavioral program for children as reward or teaching/instruction, not reward and punishment. Remember, people with ADHD aren't being forgetful on purpose; children with ADD aren't trying to make life harder. Teach or reward!

There are AUTOMATIC trauma/ fear responses, and LEARNED trauma/responses. We need to identify our responses and learn to work with all of them to overcome trauma.
