Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) is generally very safe, but there are situations where it should not be performed or should only be done with medical clearance.

Absolute Contraindications🙅🏻‍♀️
People with the following conditions should not receive MLD:

•Acute infection (fever, cellulitis, active bacterial infection)
•Untreated congestive heart failure (CHF) or severe cardiac edema
•Acute deep vein thrombosis (DVT) or suspected blood clot
•Acute kidney failure or severe renal insufficiency
•Uncontrolled high blood pressure (depending on severity and physician guidance)
