What does recovery after an awake upper blepharoplasty actually look like?
Maggie is taking us along for the journey.
Yesterday marked one week since Maggie’s awake upper blepharoplasty with Dr. Ford, and she’s already back in the office! She shared that she experienced minimal bruising during her first week of recovery and is feeling good enough to return to work.
Because Maggie is part of the Renuance team, she’s also here to answer your questions about what it’s really like to have upper eyelid surgery while awake—from the procedure itself to those first few days of healing.
Upper blepharoplasty is designed to remove excess upper eyelid skin and create a more open, refreshed appearance. For select patients, Dr. Ford can perform the procedure awake using local anesthesia rather than general anesthesia.
And while Maggie’s early progress is exciting to see, she’s still healing. Swelling, bruising, incision appearance, and recovery timelines can vary from person to person, with results continuing to evolve over time.
