Hip extension is one of the most important movements we have, yet it’s also one of the first things many of us lose.

We need it to walk efficiently, run, climb stairs, squat, lift, and generate power. When the hip can’t fully extend, the body often borrows motion from the low back, knees, or pelvis—which can contribute to stiffness, compensation, and pain over time.

This heavy banded hip mobilization helps create space in the front of the hip while encouraging the joint to move where it’s was designed to. Pairing it with active movement teaches your body how to use that new range, not just temporarily access it.

And maybe that’s why I love this exercise so much…

Because it’s a reminder that sometimes we all get stuck.

Sometimes it’s a joint that won’t move. Sometimes it’s an injury that won’t seem to heal. Sometimes it’s life itself.

When that happens, it’s okay to ask for help.

Just like this band provides the direction and assistance needed to restore movement, sometimes we need another person to help us find our own path forward. I take so much pride in being that person for my patients—not because I “fix” them, but because I get to walk alongside them, help them understand what’s happening, and remind them that progress is still possible.

Whether you’re stuck in pain, stuck in recovery, or simply feeling stuck in life, you don’t have to navigate it alone.

Sometimes the right guidance is all it takes to get moving again. 🤍

Pain isn't just physical. The way you think about your body affects how your body responds. Negative thoughts create tension. Tension creates more pain. More pain creates more negative thoughts.
We work to break that cycle - not just through movement, but through reframing the thoughts and emotions that come with it.
Body. Mind. Emotions. Movement. All of it connected. All of it part of the process.

The body has an unconscious defense mechanism. When life gets hard, it tightens. It guards. It shuts down. Breathwork doesn't require you to consciously work through any of that. It just brings breath and awareness back into the places your body quietly closed off.

This Saturday, the 20th, at 4 PM, Abe is joining us again for another Transformational Breathwork class! This is a more intimate setting, so only 10 spots are available. Grab yours using the link in bio.

Huge thank you to Vine FM 102.5 for sharing our story with the community. For the last few months, they've helped us reach the people who need us most, and they can do the same for you and your business.

Hearing my ad on the radio for the first time was a moment I'll never forget. It reminded me of how far we've come and how much potential we still have to change lives.

If you caught the ad and you're ready to start your recovery, I would be so grateful to be part of that next chapter. You know where to find me. 🤍

When you start shifting the narrative, even if slow and imperfect, your brain starts to follow. This is neuroplasticity. It's not a wellness trend. It's science.

Pain is real. Your experience is valid. And the way you talk to yourself about it matters more than most people realize.

This is one of the things I love to dig into with patients. Because pain isn't just physical, and real recovery isn't just about the body.

Matt came in four weeks ago doing the work, staying consistent, staying optimistic. But something wasn't adding up. The movement wasn't coming back the way it should have. So we looked deeper.

Turns out, one of his screws had gone all the way through the tibia and fibula — not where it was supposed to land. That's why the range of motion was stalling. That's why the pain had a ceiling. If we hadn't stopped to question it, we never would have taken those X-rays. And we would have kept working around a problem that needed a real fix.

That's the thing about healing, sometimes the most important step is pausing to ask why it isn't working yet. You're allowed to advocate for yourself and say something still feels off. That's not complaining. That's paying attention.

Matt's headed back in for a procedure to get that screw removed, and then we keep going. He's still in high spirits. Still doing the work. The road ahead just got a lot clearer!

Your hip has been hurting for months. Maybe years. And every scan, every explanation, points back to that old injury.

But here's what a lot of people don't realize - sometimes the injury has already healed. What hasn't healed is the pattern your nervous system learned around it.

That's why the eval at Rise & Reframe is an hour. We're not just looking at what hurts. We're looking at why your body is still protecting itself like the threat is ongoing.

Pain is just a signal. It's asking you to do something different.

Once we figure out where that signal is coming from. That's where we start.

Rest is not a reward for when you’ve done enough; It’s something you’re allowed to choose right now.

Rise & Reframe is partnering with KindPeopleWellness for another restorative sound bath. Crystal singing bowls, chimes, guided grounding and so much more. The kind of evening your body has been asking for. Show up, get cozy, and experience the restoring power of sound.
