One of the most emotional changes families notice near end of life is when a loved one begins eating and drinking less. While it can feel alarming, this is often the body’s natural way of slowing down and conserving energy. 🤍

Did you know❔

• The hypothalamus, which controls hunger and thirst, gradually becomes less active

• The digestive system slows significantly as the body redirects energy elsewhere

• Less intake can sometimes help patients feel more comfortable physically

• Dry mouth near end of life is usually better relieved with mouth care and ice chips than large amounts of fluids

• The body’s nutritional needs change dramatically during this stage

Hospice care is not about “giving up.” It is about providing comfort, education, dignity, and support every step of the way. 🕊️

Meaning:

✔️ You won’t have 17 call lights screaming at you

✔️ You won’t feel like you’re running a marathon in Crocs

✔️ You will actually finish charting before midnight

We primarily serve:
📍 Murrysville
📍 Monroeville
📍 Beaver
& surrounding areas

Must have:
✔️ Active PA CNA license
✔️ Reliable transportation
✔️ Willingness to travel
