Birth is beautiful.
But
There are moments of unknowns, questions, miracles, thankfulness, gratefulness and so much more.
Support and information make a world of a difference especially when you’ve done absolutely all you can and fought like crazy to have the birth your heart desires and then you need the surrounding of your people. Your tribe, your team, your support people will make all the difference. It will not take away the pain, fear, anxiety and longing for things to have turned out different but it will leave you knowing that you are not alone and that we serve a God of absolute Miracles!
I am so honored that i got to be with a wonderful Godly couple on the birthday of their baby boy! I know that God will use this baby to share the testimony that his life is and that it is only by the miracle that God performed!

"Skin.

What a contentious concept.

Skin is judged on how it hangs off the bone.

On how it represents our identity.

On its colour.

On how its changed.

On how it hasn't changed enough.

People around the world are suffering and dying because of perceptions and ideologies pertaining to skin.

I hang my head in my hands, and weep for humanity's preoccupation with skin.

And yet here I am, showing so much skin in my work, because I know how important it is to so many people. I know that so many people in the various spheres I connect with, and beyond, have had their skin judged (and judge it themselves) on so many levels - that it is important for me to show them that skin is not bad, just because it is marked with life's journey. Skin is not ugly, because it is lined, stretched, squished, pulled apart and expanded.

Why? Because it tells the story of the trials of a life lived. Because it symbolizes LIFE ITSELF. Something we ought to be grateful for. Something people around the world are fighting for.

LIFE.

I am hanging onto every last drop of hope, that this preoccupation will one day end. That one day, no one will live in fear because of the colour of their skin, be judged by their skin, or have to defend skin at all.

But that, rather, we will, each and every one of us, look within ourselves and within each other, and find the deeper narratives, and focus on what is in our hearts and minds. How we can be better beings. How we can be kinder. How we can be more nurturing; to ourselves, each other, and to this planet we call home."
