Mr. Fred Lee Ricks, III was born on April 21, 1957, in Colbert County, Alabama to the late Fred Ricks, Jr. and Della Pearl Marshall Ricks. He went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, June 6, 2026.

Fred served his country as a U.S. Marine Corporal.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred Ricks, Jr. and Della Pearl Marshall Ricks.

He leaves to cherish his memories:

Five daughters, Temicca Qualls of Madison, AL, Trista (Richard) Qualls-Franks of Sheffield, AL, Lisa Harden of Leighton, AL, Levada Franklin of Decatur, AL, and Ashley Harden of Tuscumbia, AL; one son, Dominique Abernathy of Sheffield, AL; two brothers, Arthur (Ranell) Ricks and George (Veronica) Ricks, both of Leighton, AL; three sisters, Anita (Ozzie) Carter of Muscle Shoals, AL, Barbara King, Angela (Mary) Ricks, both of Leighton, AL; twelve grandchildren, Shaquille Qualls, Shamela Sok, Tristian Qualls, E.J. Qualls, Maliyah Qualls, Abigail Bennett, Treasure Nalls, Derrick Franks, Cameron Franks, Tristan Franks, Ka’Dence Abernathy, and Kamauri Abernathy; four great-grandchildren, Thalia Sok, Nara Sok, Kah’lel Davis, and Archer Sok; two uncles, Willie T. Ricks and Thomas Lee Marshall; four aunts, Shirley Muldrew, Helen Marshall, Clementine Marshall of Town Creek, AL, and Helen Ricks of Leighton, AL; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Ms. Nannie Eloise Allen was born November 3, 1941, to the late Georgia Allen Hill and the late Bernie Nelson in Madison, Alabama. In the morning of Thursday, May 14, 2026, the Lord quietly called Nannie home to receive her reward for a job well done.

Upon accepting Christ as her Lord and Savior, Nannie joined Mt. Olive M.B. Church in Muscle Shoals, Alabama, then later became a member of Church St. CPCA, under the direction of Pastor Mitchell Walker where she remained a faithful & dedicated member. She was active in the Nurses Ministry aid Mid-Day Bible Study.

At an early age, Nannie moved from Huntsville, Alabama to the Shoals Area, where she decided to attend Northwest Shoals Community College to obtain her nursing degree and worked 20 plus years at Helen Keller Hospital. In her spare time, she had a passion for sewing and would use her talents to hand make easter outfits for Veronica and Greg.

Nannie was preceded in death by her parents, Georgia Allen Hill and Bernie Nelson; sister, Mary Fracis Donegan; brother, Bernie Nelson Allen; and grandson, Marcellus Eman Hunter.

She leaves to cherish her memories:

a daughter, Veronica Love of Huntsville, AL; a son, Min. Greg (Kim) Allen of Huntsville, AL; a devoted special friend, John Robert Mayes of Muscle Shoals, AL; four grandchildren, Dewayne Allen of Huntsville, AL, Tynesha Allen of Jacksonville, FL, Shari Allen of Florence, AL, and Tiaya Hubbard of Florence, AL; six great-grandchildren, Iteania Allen of Tuscumbia, AL, Dewayne Allen, Jr., Anthony Allen, and Aniyah Watkins, all of Huntsville, AL, Jayden Allen and Daylan Allens, both of Florence, AL; one unborn great-great-grandchild, Kihyeir Nalls; two sisters, Lucille Patton of Toney, AL, and Narvell Patton of Huntsville, AL; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends, including all of her wonderful Gateway Place Family.
