I have lived and breathed in both the realm of natural health and allopathic medicine.

At the age of 16, I became a Certified Nurses Aide and worked in a nursing home serving our elderly community. I attended college and earned my degree in Health Care Administration and Radiography. I worked in a hospital for years as an x-ray tech and then became a registered mammographer.

When I became a Mama of 3, I was blessed to become a stay at home mom. Then we welcomed baby number 4 into our lives. They are the true joy of my existence.

One of my children was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease where the joints become painfully inflamed to the point that they could not walk or participate on Christmas. I was told by multiple medical professionals that my child would most likely end up on dialysis due to kidney damage. There was nothing to do but wait.
That did not sit well with my mama heart.

In my anger and fear, I took a leap into something I had only known as taboo: natural medicine. I contacted a naturopath and had a beautiful interaction that left me feeling empowered. I followed the protocol as if my child's life depended on it. Because it did.
When my baby's lab results came back the doctors were shocked to see that kidney function was above optimal and these results "never happen." I shared how I had taken them to a naturopath and the remedies that were recommended. My excitement was met with rudeness. It was in that moment that I knew I needed to dig into this seemingly foreign world of natural health.

I read the books, listened to the pod casts, grew the herbs. It was during covid that I made the leap to attend naturopathic school with the intention of being more equipped to take care of my children.
One year of school eventually turned into 4.
Taking charge of my children's health turned into helping the community.

My heart has always been in health and service to others. Allow me to hold space for you.

A post I recently saw asked, “During a very dark period, what was the best thing you ever did for your mental health?” I began to thumb through all of my recent losses. The deaths of those close to me these last few years is seemingly insurmountable. Chronologically: my uncle, mom, grandma, dad, cousin and unborn child, grandpa. Each creating dark moments.

Through each death I turned to vast offerings of naturopathy: herbal remedies, flower essences, essential oils, craniosacral therapy, sound therapy etc. Each modality containing profound emotional healing that was gentle enough to meet me where I was in my journey.

As March arrives and I reflect upon my first year without my dad and honor his second heavenly birthday, I would like to hold space for those who are working through their own dark moments. I recognize that not all dark moments stem from the grief of a loved one and I am here to witness and hold space for those too.
