Pooky / The Love Cat Spangler as he was remebered by his mom on June 5, 2026.

With a heart both heavy and full of cherished memories, I remember and honor Love Cat, also affectionately known as Pookey Spangler. This precious family member had a spirit that radiated warmth, gentleness, and an unmistakable sweetness from the very moment he joined our family.

Love Cat, often referred to as "Pookey" was no ordinary feline; he was a companion whose presence was a comfort and a gift. His favorite pastime was watching chipmunks scamper under the bird feeder—those tiny moments of nature’s hustle and bustle were his source of endless fascination. Summer days found him leisurely strolling around our yard, relishing the sunshine, and eventually settling down for peaceful naps on the porch where the warm breeze and sunbeams brought him such contentment. In quieter moments indoors, he delighted in watching videos on YouTube, often accompanied by fresh catnip snacks—his perfect combination of entertainment and treats.

His personality shone brightly through every cuddle and lap curl. He was the epitome of gentle affection, a sweet soul who loved nothing more than to snuggle close, making sure his presence was felt and his love returned in warm pets and loving conversation. Love Cat’s tender nature made every interaction with him a treasured experience.

Our journey together began on July 25, 2008, the day fate gently nudged us towards each other. A colleague could no longer care for him and kindly entrusted him to my care. I immediately knew this was the beginning of something truly special. From that moment on, Pookey became an inseparable part of our lives—a quiet companion with an unmistakable charm.

One of my favorite stories that perfectly encapsulates his quirky yet lovable character is his odd but endearing fondness for laying on plastic bags, especially the large ones. It was a sight that never failed to bring a smile, showcasing his unique ways of finding comfort in the simplest things. Every single day we shared was packed with joy and love. Though his physical presence may have been fleeting, the spirit of Love Cat endures, engraved upon our hearts forever. His love and the memories we forged together are eternal, continuing to bring light even in his absence.

Thank you, dearest Love Cat aka "Pookey", for gracing our lives with your gentle paws, your soft purrs, and your enduring companionship. You may have left this world too soon, but your spirit will forever remain a warm, shining beam in our hearts. Rest peacefully, sweet boy, until we meet again.

Honoring the life of "Dominic Johnson" May 24, 2026 - Thoughts from his mom.

The first day I met him he came around the corner of my house and came up to me like he had known me forever. Little did I know he would become my whole world. It was special because he adopted me! Our home is filled with cat trees, toys and loving memories. He loved being outside and sitting on the porch. But his favorite spot was on the kitchen table in a amazon box. He loved when I would sing to him. He liked being called little bo peep. So that was his nickname. My favorite memory is of him coming inside making a weird noise going under my bed. I looked and seen he put a mouse under my bed. As gross as it was he was happy and head butting my legs. So I showed him love and told him good boy. He made friends with another cat outside. They enjoyed each other's company. You are missed by humans and your kitty friends. I miss holding you and you greeting me when I get home. I didn't know I would only have 5 years with you. My heart is heavy without you but I know you are not in pain. One day we will meet again and I'll be able to hold you again forever. I love you forever and always❤️

FORT WORTH MAN PASSES AWAY AND LEAVES $100,000 TO THE ANIMAL RESCUE WHO GAVE HIM HIS CAT!!!!

Years ago, Animal Hope Pet in Fort Worth adopted out a cat named Thomas to Dr. Philip Roos, a man in his 90s.

The rescue says, “Some organizations hesitate to adopt animals to older adults because of the possibility that the person may predecease the pet. We have always believed the opposite: that companionship, comfort, purpose, and unconditional love matter at every stage of life.

A month ago, we were informed that Dr. Roos had passed away and had left our shelter a gift of more than $100,000 through his estate.

When we read his obituary, we learned about the remarkable life he lived. Dr. Roos fled Denmark ahead of the N**i occupation during World War II. He attended Stanford University while still in high school. He went on to dedicate his life to psychology in both clinical and administrative roles, helping countless people over the decades.

But what moved us most was the final line of the obituary:

“He is survived by his daughter, Valerie, and his cat, Thomas.”

That sentence has stayed with us.

We often talk about rescuing animals and finding them homes because we know it changes the animals’ lives. But sometimes we are reminded just how profoundly those animals change human lives too.

Many of us come to animal welfare because we have experienced loss, hardship, loneliness, or grief ourselves. We do this work hoping to make the world a little kinder and a little better. Stories like this remind us there is enormous power in the connection between people and animals.

Thomas found a home.
But Thomas also gave companionship, purpose, comfort, and love to someone who clearly cherished him deeply.

We are profoundly grateful to Dr. Roos for this extraordinary gift and for allowing us to be one small part of his story. His generosity will help us continue finding homes, hope, and healing for animals — and for people — for many years to come.”

WOW!!!! $100,000!!!!! What a gift! 💙💙💙

Kitten Season is here… but have you considered a "Senior Snuggler"? 🐱❤️

It's officially National Adopt a Cat Month, and if you’ve scrolled through social media lately, you already know: Kitten Season is in full swing! 🍼🐾

Local rescues and shelters are absolutely bursting at the seams with tiny, energetic furballs. And while there is nothing quite like the chaotic lovableness of a kitten chasing its own tail at 3:00 AM, we want to shine a gentle spotlight on a different group of shelter residents who need us just as much.

Right now, many shelters are also caring for senior cats.

Behind many of these older cats is a heartbreaking story—often, they belonged to a devoted pet parent who passed away, leaving these sweet seniors confused, grieving, and suddenly without a lap to sleep on.

Why a Senior Cat Might Just Perfect for You:
✨ Stress-Free Vibes: Unlike kittens (who view curtains as rock-climbing walls), senior cats have mastered the art of the perfect afternoon nap. They bring a calm, peaceful energy to your home.
✨ No Guesswork: Their personalities are already fully formed. You’ll know exactly who they are—cuddlers, independent thinkers, or chatty supervisors—the day you meet them.
✨ Unmatched Gratitude: There is a unique, profound look in the eyes of an older pet who realizes they’ve been rescued from a loud shelter cage. They are forever grateful for a quiet, soft place to land.

At Clock Timeless Pets, we celebrate the infinite bond between people and their animals at every stage of life. If you have room in your heart and your home this month, please consider visiting a local West Michigan rescue.

💬 Question: Are you a proud rescuer of a senior cat? Please drop their photo in the comments to show the world just how incredible older pets can be! 👇
