Robert Wallace Syers, 54, of Muskegon Michigan, passed away on August 9, 2026. He was born on September 5, 1971, to Gary Lyle and Wanda Darlene (Mitchell) Syers.
He is survived by his daughter, Rachel Syers and granddaughter Alexandria, parents Gary Lyle Syers I, stepmother, Leida Compton, siblings Cheri Syers, Tom Syers, and John Dolloway; former wife, Tracy Syers. He was preceded in death by his mother Wanda Syers, older siblings Kim Goeres and Gary Lyle Syers II; and stepfather, Ronald Compton.

He worked as a CNC Machinist for many years before retirement.

He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and generally being outdoors. He was a music lover and enjoyed playing guitar in his free time. He lived his life freely and on his own terms and will be remembered by the people who loved him for his humor, his warmth, and the way he touched the hearts of those around him.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date for close family and friends. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Noah Project or the Big Lake Humane Society.

Marilyn J. Mullins age 91 was born on May 18, 1935, in Beloit, Wisconsin to the late Melvin A. and Florence M. (Degan) Peck and passed away on August 11, 2026. Along with her parents she was preceded in death by two husbands, James Gilmore in 1978 and Thomas Mullins in 1999; three sons, Daniel, Rodney, and Jeffrey; daughter Sandra.

Surviving are three children, Michael (Susan) Gilmore, Debra DuRose, and Barbara (Dave) Kosten; several grand, great-grand and great-great-grandchildren; her twin sister, Marlene Kvarnes. Marilyn loved playing a variety of board games, card games, BINGO and trips to the casino.

A graveside service for Marilyn will be held on Friday, August 14, 2026, at 11:00 in Egelston Township Cemetery where she will be interred next to her first husband James Gilmore and her two sons, Rodney and Jeffrey. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be directed to Hospice of Michigan.

Gale Gomery passed away peacefully on August 6, 2026, at Trinity Health Mercy Hospital. Born on May 10, 1948, in Muskegon, Michigan, Gale was the cherished son of Arthur and Teresa Gomery.

Gale's life was spent in Muskegon, where he graduated from Muskegon Catholic Central in 1966, and furthered his studies through Muskegon Community College and Western Michigan University's business programs. This led him to a successful career in sales, where he was a well-loved figure across many local dealerships. Those fortunate enough to know Gale will remember him for his sweet, gentle, friendly, hardworking, and mischievous nature. He found joy in simple pleasures such as thrifting, playing games of all kinds, amusing his children and grandchildren, and visiting his favorite city of Las Vegas.

Gale will be greatly missed and is survived by his wife, Barbara; daughters Tanya (Scott) Halterman and Angela (Jim) Beezley; stepchildren Elly Ward and Nick (Kara) Vanderweele; grandchildren Cole and Hadley Halterman, Jackson and Jovie Beezley, Mazy Ward, and Kaila and Abram Vanderweele; brother Art Gomery; and many nieces and nephews.

Gale was preceded in death by his parents, his sister MaryAnne, and his brother Richard (Rocky).

In accordance with Gale's wishes, a private family ceremony will be held to honor his life.

David “Dave” Lee Pierce, age 62, passed away in Grand Rapids, MI, on Friday, August 7, 2026, with his family by his side, after a courageous 20-year battle with multiple types of cancer. Dave was born in Muskegon, MI, on January 25, 1964, to the late Charles “Clyde” and Reita (Thompson) Pierce. On December 11, 1981, he married his wife of 44 years, Kelly (Line).

Dave joined the U.S. Navy at the age of 17 and proudly served for 13 years from 1981 – 1994, after which he worked in HVAC and as an assembler. Dave had a passion for helping others through various volunteer activities with The Salvation Army and as a Scout leader.

Dave is survived by his wife, Kelly; 4 sons, Justin, Matthew (Paul Murdzia), Randy (Stacy), and Keegan. Brother-in-law, Jeff Line; sister-in-law, Robin (Steve) Forbes; 3 grandchildren, Rilee Plotts, Cheyenne Wilson (Brittany Vedenoff), and Gage Beyrle; and several nieces and nephews.

In accordance with Dave’s wishes, there will be no services. His life will be celebrated with a BBQ in his honor with family and friends at a later date.

With hearts full of love and profound gratitude for a life beautifully lived, we mourn the passing of Teresa (Carey) Graeber, who went home to be with the Lord on August 4, 2026, at the age of 69.
Born in September 1956, Teresa was the cherished daughter of the late Albert Jay Carey (d. 2005) and Jeanne Betty (Ryan) Carey (d. 2015), who were united in marriage on April 12, 1947. From the very beginning, family was the cornerstone of Teresa’s life, and she carried that bond with boundless love and devotion.
A Mother & Grandmother’s Heart
Above all else, Teresa’s heart belonged completely to her family. Her four sons were her ultimate pride and joy, and the love she held for them knew no limits. She embraced her daughters-in-law with open arms, loving them as if they were her own daughters from day one. Her legacy lives on through: David Misner Jr. and his wife, April, Joshua Daniel Misner and his wife, Sera, Paul Michael Misner and his wife, Cheyenne, Aaron Joseph Misner and his wife, Josephine. Her joy multiplied with every grandchild. She was the endlessly proud and devoted grandmother of Shawn, Destany, Justice, Elizabeth, Kayla, Memory, Gracy, Chloe, Charity, and Donald. each holding a unique and precious place in her heart

Jessica's life ended far too soon, leaving a profound loss in the hearts of her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her. She was born on March 20, 1989, in Grand Haven, Michigan, to Mark and Janice Eskridge and passed away on August 2, 2026. Jessica experienced the heartbreaking loss of her father in 2018, and she carried the weight of his absence with her throughout the remainder of her life.

Jessica was known for her kind, compassionate, and generous spirit. During high school, she participated in several mission trips through her Interact Club, demonstrating an early commitment to serving others. She later spent two years in Detroit with AmeriCorps, where she dedicated herself to mentoring children in the city's inner neighborhoods, making a meaningful difference in the lives of many young people.
Jessica graduated from Grand Valley State University with a bachelor's degree and found great satisfaction in her career at Gentex. While she enjoyed her work, nothing brought her greater happiness than spending time with her beloved nephew and niece, Jaxon and Journee. She also treasured her lifelong friendship with her best friend, Mariah, and found comfort and companionship in her cherished cat, Maizey.

Patrick J. Miller died August 2, 2026 after a short battle with glioblastoma. In accordance with Patrick’s wishes cremation has taken place and no services will be held.

Patrick is survived by his wife, Sheila; son Eric (Brandy); and grandson Benjamin. He is also survived by his six siblings and extended family.

The family thanks the doctors, nurses and staff at Trinity Health medical group, Mary Free Bed Rehab, the CHC-Muskegon, and Harbor Hospice for their compassionate care. The family also thanks friends and neighbors for their many prayers and loving support during his illness.

Joan Raylee, age 91 was born on December 21, 1934, in Malvern, Ohio. Her parents, Lester “Slim” Burwell and Frances M. “Frankie” preceded her in death, in 1979 and 1995, respectively. Joan was the oldest of four children, her three siblings, Betty, Don, and Shari all preceded her in death.

Joan met J.L. Romal “Rocky” Shepherd. She married him on July 11, 1953. They had two sons, Brian and Bruce. Romal preceded her in passing as well as her son Brian Keith, January 16, 2000, and October 29, 2024, respectively.

Survivors include, her sister, Connie, niece, Lisa Renee, nephew Matthew “Matt” Schwing. Her son, Bruce and a granddaughter, Kelli Shepherd.

Joan retired from Roundy’s Inc. in 2002 after nearly 50 years of service and will be interred next to Romal in Sunrise Gardens.

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of David Carl Ahlstrom. Born April 20th, 1962, and passed away peacefully on July 20th 2026, at the age of 64. David was a beloved father, grandfather, brother, husband, and friend.

Dave was born and raised in Royal Oak, Michigan. As a young adult, he moved to Nags Head, North Carolina; where his parents and sisters had settled. It was there that his lifelong love of the ocean, traveling, and fascination with storm chasing truly flourished.

Of all the roles Dave held throughout his life, being a grandfather brought him the greatest joy. He treasured every moment spent with his grandchildren and especially loved cheering them on at their sporting events. His grandchildren brought endless pride, laughter, and purpose to his life.

Dave is survived by his wife Kari Anderson; children, David (Shelby) Ahlstrom and Christina Colson; his beloved grandchildren, Brooklynn and Colton Colson, Dawson Ahlstrom; his sisters, Donna Martin and Cheryl Pulley; bonus children, Steven Anderson, Scott (Lauren) Anderson; bonus grandchildren, Amaya, Malia, Spencer, and Chase Anderson; along with many extended family members and friends who will miss him dearly.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Donald "Pop" and Carol Ahlstrom.

Dave will be remembered for his adventurous spirit, his love for the Detroit Tigers, traveling, his fascination with storms, and above all, the deep love he had for his family....

Linda Maxine Graves, age 76, passed away on Sunday, July 12, 2026, surrounded by loved ones. She was born in Muskegon on June 10, 1950, to Manual and Wilma Paynter. Linda is survived by her 2 children, Jay Graves, Jr. of Texas and Shannon (Phil) Clowes of Florida; 7 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters, Jan Huibregtse and Patricia Kenney, both of Muskegon; many nieces and nephews, including a special niece, Denise Trotter. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jay Graves and by 6 siblings.

Linda had a love for people which was reflected in her work at the hobby store and as a caretaker. Memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society.
