Dr. Gabriel O'Brien completed fours years of Undergraduate Studies at The University of Wisconsin Steven's Point, as a Biology Major, before moving onto Life university in Atlanta, Georgia. After completing four more years of schooling in Chiropractic, Dr. Gabriel O'Brien received high honors on the Dean List, graduating Magna Cum Laude. Beyond his esteemed education, Dr. Gabriel O'Brien has also competed in the 2001 INBF Southern Natural BodyBuilding Championships, placing fourth in Atlanta, Georgia. He has also successfully competed in the 2010 pro-qualifier Bodybuilding Championship in Grandville, Michigan. As a former top personal trainer and nutrition expert, Dr. Gabriel O'Brien brings knowledge and real life exlperience to this noble profession. Insurance Accepted and Payment Plans

Returning after an unimaginable loss is not easy, but caring for others at our practice has always been at the heart of who we are. I am returning to honor the legacy of Dr. Gabe: my husband, my life partner, with a heart that is both heavy and grateful. While life looks different now, I remain committed to continuing the work we loved so deeply- caring for our patients and serving this community. Thank you to everyone who has supported me and my family with your prayers, encouragement, and understanding. Dr. Gabe served our office and our patients with joy, and wanted nothing more than optimal health for our community. Please join me in honoring and carrying on his legacy by continuing with your care, and moving and feeling your best.
Your kindness has carried me through some of my hardest days, and I look forward to seeing you back in the office as we continue this journey together. I would love to hear your fondest memories of Dr. Gabe, so that we can keep his memory alive. ❤️

It is with profound sadness that we share the sudden passing of Dr. Gabriel O’Brien, B.S., D.C., who went peacefully in his sleep.
Dr. Gabe joyfully served the West Michigan community alongside his wife, Dr. Michele, for the past 21 years. His patients meant the world to him, and every interaction came from the heart. Dr. Gabe had a genuine and authentic connection with each and every patient that walked through the front door. His presence in the office was always a light, and will be dearly missed. His quick wit was balanced by his vast knowledge and skill, and it was his passion to help patients reach their fullest health potential.

We know Dr. Gabe had touched many lives and was a valued member of the community. For those wishing to pay their respects, memorial service details will follow in the days ahead. The office will continue to operate in the following weeks, with the support of stand-in Locum Tenens doctors, until Dr. Michele makes her return.
Dr. Gabe left us too soon, and we are all devastated, as are his three children and his wife, Dr. Michele. Thank you for your love and support during these very difficult times.

A MEMORIAL MASS will be held for Gabe at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, July 7, 2026, at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 920 Fulton St, Grand Haven, MI 49417. MEMORIAL VISITATION will be held from 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM on Monday, July 6, at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 6291 Harvey St, Norton Shores, MI, 49444, as well as an hour prior to the service at church on Tuesday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Sportsmen for Youth or The American Heart Association. Please sign the family’s online guestbook and share memories at sytsemafh.com
