This popped up as a memory today. And it immediately reminded me of why we talk about pre~planning.
All the families who took out a cremation policy seven years ago locked in this price. That’s one of the MAIN benefits of getting with a funeral home and getting a policy in place.
As time goes by the prices increase? Why you ask? Because what most people believe about cremation isn’t true.
It’s not a simple and easy process. To purchase a crematory alone is well over a hundred and twenty five thousand dollars. That doesn’t even include the permits, maintenance fees and rebuilding of the crematory walls after so many cremations . Along with the liability because it is absolutely a permanent form of disposition of the body.
Then you add the funeral directors time or their staff members to come and pick you or your loved one at anytime of the day or night. The legal paperwork that has to be filed. And then the time that is dedicated when the cremation is taking place. Lastly, people think we put them in the crematory and “poof” they come out as ashes. That is a myth! There is more steps that take place to get someone into ashes.
This is why pre-planning is imperative so you lock in today’s costs. When you find a funeral home doing cremation cheap. You have to ask them how they can do a cremation so cheap and why they do. Cremation deserves dignity and respect just like a funeral.
What you will find is one they either don’t own their own crematory. Which means your body or loved one is taken to a mortuary service. Or you are not getting the full service you truly need to complete business after a death occurs.
