🌿✨ Green Witch Wisdom: It Is Not Too Late to Plant ✨🌿
One of the most common misconceptions I see this time of year is that if you haven't started your herb garden by spring, you've missed your opportunity.
You haven't.
For many of us, especially those in warmer growing zones, **mid-June is still a wonderful time to plant several magical and culinary herbs.**
As Green Witches, we understand that nature doesn't follow a rigid timeline. Growth happens in seasons, but it also happens when conditions are right. If you are feeling called to begin now, trust that.
Here are a few herbs that can still thrive when planted in early summer:
🌿 Basil — Traditionally associated with abundance, prosperity, and protection. Basil loves warmth and sunshine, making it an excellent herb to establish during this time of year.
🌿 Rosemary — Long connected to remembrance, clarity, and protection in folklore. Once established, rosemary is remarkably resilient and often becomes a faithful companion in both the garden and the home.
🌿 Mint — Used in many traditions for prosperity, purification, and attracting positive energy. Plant mint in containers, as it is enthusiastic about spreading wherever it can.
🌿 Lemon Balm — Associated with healing, comfort, and uplifting the spirit. This gentle herb attracts pollinators and brings a bright, calming presence to the garden.
🌿 Thyme — Historically linked to courage, strength, and vitality. Thyme thrives in warm weather and asks for very little while offering so much.
🌿 Sage — Revered for centuries for wisdom, longevity, and protective qualities. Garden sage is a beautiful addition to any herb garden and supports local pollinators when allowed to flower.
🌿 Chamomile — Often connected with peace, luck, and restful energy. Its cheerful blooms remind us that gentleness is its own form of strength.
Green witchcraft invites us to deepen our relationship with the natural world not simply by using herbs in our practice, but by tending to them, observing them, and learning from their rhythms.
Perhaps the lesson here is that it is rarely too late to begin.
Seeds do not compare themselves to one another. They simply grow when the conditions support them.
Maybe we can offer ourselves that same grace.
🌱 Are you growing anything in your garden this year? I'd love to hear what herbs or plants you're tending in your sacred space.
