Our Communication Cottage family grew by one!

Zachary Porter Weingart arrived on 9.23.2026!

We are praising God for a safe natural delivery and a healthy baby boy. We are incredibly grateful for all of the prayers, encouragement, and support throughout this pregnancy.

As Kristin spends these first weeks soaking in time with Zachary and adjusting to life with three little boys, she’ll still be checking in periodically. It’s so important to her that our families know they’re in wonderful hands. Miss Amber our care coordinator & our Department Leads will continue to support the day-to-day needs of the practice.

We’re so thankful for a team that makes it possible to find this balance during such a special season and who went out of their way to show love by sending the most beautiful flower arrangement.

Thank you for helping us celebrate and share our newest little Cottage baby with the community that has supported us along the way.

We love doing life with you! 💚🩵💙

Communication Cottage Therapy has immediate OT openings at our Cottage Clinic location!

Please note: Most current openings are morning/afternoon appointments, and after-school availability is not guaranteed as we head back into the school year.

Our occupational therapists help children build skills for success at home, school, and in everyday life, including:
• Fine motor & handwriting
• Sensory processing & regulation
• Self-care & daily living
• Attention & executive functioning
• Coordination & motor planning
• Play & independence

We provide pediatric occupational therapy for children birth through 21 years old.

Our team is getting excited for our annual pelicans game next weekend⚾️! We had the opportunity to make a raffle basket and were inspired to make it a Little Sluggers Theme 🤩

Do you know about gestalt language processing? It’s important to remember that not all of our kids learn language one word at a time!

Check out these posts and consider signing up for meaningful speech’s master class if you’d like to know more or if your child does any of the following (not limited to):

- Uses long memorized phrases before single words
* “Ready, set, go!”
* “Let’s get out of here!”
- Says entire lines from shows/videos
- Repeats phrases with the same intonation they originally heard
- Uses scripts that seem unrelated at first but actually match the child’s emotion or situation
- Demonstrates delayed or immediate echolalia
- sings songs, jingles, or quote books frequently
