Before treatment starts, your care team sits down together and goes through your imaging, your pathology, your tumor type, and your stage. Surgery, radiation, chemotherapy, hormone therapy, and targeted therapy all get weighed against what you specifically are facing.

You are not a chart in that room. You are a neighbor, and the plan gets built around you.

October is Liver Cancer Awareness Month. Liver cancer often has no early symptoms, so knowing your risk matters.

If you have hepatitis B or C, cirrhosis, fatty liver disease or a history of heavy alcohol use, ask your provider whether monitoring makes sense for you.
