And damn... does it feel good finding my way back.
Honestly, I was a little nervous about the studio where I grew my teaching career and my own practice moving. The YAKIMA’S ORIGINAL YOGA STUDIO was a space that held so many chapters of my life—growth, loss, love, breakthroughs, friendships, and so many (humbnling) moments that shaped who I am.
Walking into a new building felt a little like closing a chapter I wasn’t quite ready to say goodbye to.
But after my very first practice in the new space... it felt like home immediately.
Not because the walls were the same.
Not because the lighting or the paint looked familiar.
In fact, almost everything had changed.
It felt like home because the practice was still there.
The community was still there.
And it reminded me of something I’ve been learning over and over again:
Life has a way of pulling us away from ourselves.
Yoga gives us a practice for finding our way back.
Maybe that’s why this move felt so symbolic to me.
Home was never the building. Home was what happened every time I stepped onto my mat.
It’s the place where I remember my strength.
Where I learn to trust my body. Where I return to myself—again and again.
And maybe that’s the greatest gift this practice has given me.
Not that life stops changing...
But that no matter what changes around me, I know where to come home.
Today was sweaty, humbling, and exactly what I needed. 🤍
And just a cherry on top to practice with & get hugs from some of my favorite humans. Suzanne Carney Keely Upton Mariah 🥰
