education, fitness classes, support groups, and workshops for our community. Whole Again Counseling + Wellness operates from a model of integrated, holistic wellness. True wellness and healing comes from integrating and the fragmented parts of ourselves, reconnecting with the whole person you were always meant to be. Holistic wellness therapies can be used to address many challenges you may face--depression, anxiety, mood instability, chronic stress, substance abuse and trauma. These symptoms are often the messengers that are trying to tell you something in your life needs to change. Our relationships, thoughts, emotions, physical activities and nutrition are closely interwoven, each one blending into the other and positively or negatively affecting the whole. These trends continue to grow and Whole Again Counseling and Wellness is founded on the idea that wellness is a way of optimal life in which heart, mind, body and soul are integrated to create balance and wholeness. Mission
Our mission is to serve, educate, and connect with our clients and our community so that they feel valued and empowered on the path to wholeness of heart, mind, body and soul. Vision
Our vision is to create an authentic, therapeutic community of providers who strive to help individuals reclaim their wholeness in life. We aim to be a positive force of change in behavioral healthcare through holistic, patient-centered, evidenced-based treatment and prevention services. Beliefs and Values

Muscle isn’t just about looking strong—it’s about living strong.

After menopause, women naturally lose muscle at a faster rate, but that isn’t the end of the story. It’s a reason to pick up the weights.

Research highlighted by Dr. Stacy Sims and Dr. Gabrielle Lyon reminds us that strength training is one of the most powerful interventions for women as we age. Building muscle supports bone density, improves metabolic health, enhances balance, protects cognitive function, and helps preserve the independence to do the things you love for years to come.

Every rep is an investment in your future self. Strong at 50. Strong for life.
Call Whole Again Counseling + Wellness today to talk about your options for staying strong!

The View From the Mat
Today, I sat quietly in class on my yoga mat.
Moments before my attention had been narrow. All I could see was difficult conversations, deadlines, and a long list of things I have yet to do. Then something shifted.
There was no profound revelation. No breakthrough. No perfectly still mind. Just a moment.
My attention was caught by the sunlight streaming through the windows, reflecting across the floor.
The room hadn’t changed. The light had been there all along.
What changed was my focus.
Maybe it was taking a deep breath.
Maybe it was the quiet of the room.
Maybe it was simply slowing down long enough to notice.
But suddenly, the moment looked very different.
All those stressors still existed and were waiting on me.
But something within me shifted to a softer place—to gratitude.
Our attention shapes our experience. What we repeatedly focus on becomes our reality. When we intentionally create space for stillness, we begin to notice what was always present but overlooked.
From the mat, we practice changing our point of view so that when we step back into our lives, we remember we have that ability there too.
Choose your focus. The light is always there.

Sometimes healing looks like… being still.
When we intentionally slow our breathing, bring awareness to physical sensations, and allow our bodies to rest, we help shift the nervous system away from chronic survival mode and toward a state that supports healing, connection, and recovery.

Evidence-based somatic practices—including breathwork, body awareness, progressive muscle relaxation, yoga, and mindfulness—have been shown to:
✨ Reduce symptoms of anxiety and depression
✨ Decrease physiological stress and muscle tension
✨ Improve emotion regulation
✨ Increase interoceptive awareness (the ability to notice what’s happening inside your body)
✨ Build resilience by helping the brain and body respond more flexibly to stress

Mental health isn’t just about changing your thoughts. It’s also about helping your body feel safe.
🤍 Join Ginger Hopkins Stephens for our Exhale Mind-Body class at WholeAgainCounselingWellness , where we combine evidence-based breathwork, gentle movement, progressive muscle relaxation, meditation, and nervous system education to support whole-person healing.

What if one of the best treatments for your brain wasn’t found in a bottle—but in movement?

🏋️ Strength training and aerobic exercise:
🧠 Increase BDNF (Brain-Derived Neurotrophic Factor)—often called fertilizer for the brain—which helps neurons grow, repair, and form new connections.
😊 Boost serotonin, dopamine, and norepinephrine, supporting better mood, motivation, focus, and emotional regulation.
💚 Reduce symptoms of anxiety and depression by helping regulate the body’s stress response.
🧩 Improve memory, learning, executive functioning, and cognitive resilience as we age.

At Whole Again Counseling + Wellness, we believe mental health isn’t just about talking—it’s also about moving. Whether it’s strength training, yoga, walking, or simply choosing to move a little more today, every workout is an investment in both your body and your mind.

Move your body. Change your mood. Strengthen your life.
