Why is the relationship between a PT and their patient so important? Here’s what our clinicians say. 👇

It starts with a simple idea: you are the expert on your own life.
Your PT brings the clinical expertise. You bring your experience, your goals, your challenges, and your priorities. And together, you figure out what comes next.

That’s why a physical therapy evaluation is about more than checking a box. It’s where your PT learns what you’re dealing with, what matters most to you, and what you want to get back to.

It’s also a big part of why PT involves more than exercise: the plan is built with you, not handed to you.

Curious what it’s really like to be a physical therapist? Hear it straight from the people who do it every day. 💛

“I like personally making a difference in people’s lives. The ability to get someone go from ‘I can barely walk to the car’ to ‘I’m on the ground playing with my grandkids’… And having that huge & positive change in someones life is super empowering.” - Jacob DuVall, PT

TMD isn’t just jaw pain. It can show up as ear ringing, tooth pain, even headaches.

Temporomandibular Disorders, also known as TMJ dysfunction, can be a tricky beast. Many people don’t recognize the symptoms — from jaw pain, clicking, popping, and locking, into unexpected issues like ear pain, tooth sensitivity, and frequent headaches. These seemingly unrelated symptoms may all be connected to the jaw, and TMJ physical therapy can help uncover and treat the root cause.

Understanding the link between TMD and ear, teeth and headache symptoms is crucial for accurate diagnosis and effective management.

Read the full guide, and if any of this sounds familiar, book a visit. No referral needed.

TMJ Self Release 💥

Jaw clicking, ear pain, or headaches that won’t quit?

Here’s how to perform a TMJ Self Release 👇🏽

Start by washing your hands or putting on a glove.
1. Using your thumb, place it inside your mouth along the back of your jaw, near your back molars.

2. Place your index or middle finger on the outside of your jaw so that your thumb and finger are gently pinching the tissue between them, like you’re gently pinching playdough.

3. Gently press your thumb and finger together and glide both fingers down toward the bottom of your jaw.

4. Next, gently glide your thumb and finger along your cheekbone, moving toward your nose.

5. Throughout the technique, keep your tongue resting on the roof of your mouth and make sure you’re not squeezing too hard.

Do you have more questions or want to get to the bottom of your pain? Reach out and schedule an appointment with our TMD specialist now!

Reposting in honor of our Core and Pelvic Health Month! What questions do you have about your core and pelvic floor?

- - -

Your pelvic floor is part of a system—and should be treated that way.

It’s not just tight.
It’s not just weak.
But it IS asking for help.

Comment BOUNCE if you learned something new 👇
And send this to the friend who always crosses their legs before sneezing 🤧

Ready to hit the trails? 🏃‍♂️

Sturdy footwear is your best defense against injury when trading pavement for dirt!

Our latest blog breaks down how to choose the perfect trail running shoes based on your foot shape, gait, and terrain.

👟 Quick Tip: Shop for running shoes in the late afternoon when your feet are slightly swollen, and make sure there’s a thumb’s width of space in the toe box to save your toes on downhill descents!

Click the link in our bio to read the full guide to choosing the right shoes!

Not every pelvic floor exercise looks like pelvic floor rehab 👀

A lot of pelvic health treatment involves improving how the entire body works together—breathing, core control, hips, posture, movement patterns, and strength.

So yes… sometimes we’re connecting the dots between symptoms and exercises right in the middle of the open gym 😅

The good news?
You’re not the only one asking these questions.

Hitting a wall isn’t a sign to quit—it’s a sign to pivot.

If you’ve been lifting the same weight or running the same route for weeks without change, your body is officially on autopilot.

Work smarter, not just harder. When the gains stop, the strategy needs to change.

Plateaus are a part of the journey, not the end of the road. Don’t get frustrated; get creative. Sometimes a little rest or a new movement is all it takes to see that next breakthrough.
