Power in Prayer!
I have always struggled with praying my personal prayers out loud. You know, they are just personal. But the last couple of years as I have sat in sacred places I have been prompted over and over to pray out loud. Not in a boisterous way or anything like that, but to use my words. Although this was clear... it was still a difficult feet for me. Why?
I am not sure. I am pretty good at public speaking, or at least I use to be. What I noticed is the longer I prolonged prayer out loud, the more difficult it became to speak up!
Whether it be in public or just to stand up for myself or my children. The more I let things slide and postpone promptings the more depressed, frustrated, and angry I became inside, and out! Was my light diminishing the longer I put promptings aside?
But every time I spoke up it seemed like my sacred promptings would be challenged. That was uncomfortable for me. Something I wasn't use to. I began to be quiet, become more bitter, and hide when I could. I wasn't just losing my community, and my faith. But I was beginning to lose myself.
If there is one things that kicks my butt out of self-loathing it is the Mamma Bear inside of me! But that still wasn't enough when I felt so yucky inside. As I watched my children begin to suffer not so silently and watch my health take a turn I knew I had to get it together again. I began with my probiotics. I worked on improving my sleep. Then to getting in my vitamins, minerals, and greens. And on to my Omegas and eliminating toxicities (physical and emotional). Basically I got back to the basics.
As I did this I watched my mental clarity return and my promptings return. Promptings to speak up, advocate for my children and myself. Promptings to be confident in my promptings and practice prayering vocally.
Then one day this Christmas break my daughter Emma was struggling with a jar of green olives. My son Tayson mentioned that we hadn't said prayer of the food yet anyway. Dad offered the prayer and being silly said, "please help Emma open that jar of olives already." After prayer she went to open the jar and immediately it popped open!
"I did it!" she yelled.
Then it hit me, and I said, "You did it with God! Power of Prayer and moving on inspired action. Great work!"
As we went on the week I had an experience once with Mcquayla and once with Aniah were they were both extremely terrified for difference reasons. As I felt their hearts pound in our embrace I began to worry alongside with them. I realized this was part of my empathetic gifts and it was time to take that message to prayer.
While working with my littlest Aniah I was actually more scared with her for a personal reason. A few years ago our family was in a car wreck that totaled our camper trailer that was actually our home at the time. Wind was the cause of losing control of our vehicle. We all survived without a scratch and I know that Angels had us in their arms.
On the way to this most recent wrestling tournament the wind picked up. We filled the mini bus with just our family and the wrestling team supplies. Dad was focused on the road and as I held Aniah distraught in my arms I asked Ian to offer prayer for our family and all the wrestlers traveling home in this wind.
He offered prayer and I sang primary songs as I worked on soothing my little 6yr old. Primary songs was an immediate reaction for me to soothe my children until I began to lose my voice the last few years.
At first it felt uncomfortable, but I had taught my children to always sing the songs of Jesus when they were scared, so I sang the easiest one I could over and over. I felt my voice strengthen and my heart heal. I felt Angels surround our bus and our souls find comfort. I felt the Power in Prayer, the power of music, and the Power in my soft Mother's voice. I felt the witness of truth to speak, share, and trust in the Lord.
I might not always have the most correct grammar, or flowery language. But I won't ever have the confidence to strengthen that areas of my life again unless I practice praying vocally, following promptings promptly, and standing up for truth & right.
It doesn't matter to God how small or how great of significance. He is our Father. He is by our side, he wants to hear our reports, help us heal, and help us grow. He is our emotional support when we feel that we have none, and he will help us grow stronger as we follow His promptings on how to do so.
Many times my promptings were to reach out to others and speak to heal, or serve and heal. He puts angels here on Earth in our paths when we fail or we feel like others fail us. There is always a way to restore, but sometimes only he can see the way.
That my friends, is my testimony of the Power of Prayer. So prayer, and pray with your voice in your quiet voice. He created your voice and He wants to hear you use it for good! Sing when no one applauses, prayer when no one hears, and stand tall when others scream at you to sit small or even hide!
Get up & Glo, you shine, and shine bright!
And if you by chance find yourself hidden and aren't quite sure how it happened like me well you go and you find the things that light the world and invite it in anyway you can! Pray! Pray in you heart until you can find your voice again. Act on inspired actions. And you find your vibrance and let it shine!
Love you my friend!
