Hazy skies have rolled into the Treasure Valley, but our appreciation and compassion for our community is crystal clear! 🌤️👀
With all this heavy wildfire smoke lingering around the Treasure Valley, the air outside isn't doing us any favors.
While a smoky horizon can put a damper on outdoor fun, it also brings real health risks—especially for our cherished older adults. Heavy smoke carries fine particles that can irritate the eyes and throat, trigger coughing, and cause serious trouble for anyone with pre-existing heart or lung conditions.
How to stay safe during these unhealthy AQI days:
🏡Lock it down: Keep windows and doors tightly shut. Let the AC do the heavy lifting.
🏞️Swap the scenery: Trade outdoor walks for indoor strolls or fun indoor games.
💨Filter it out: Run a HEPA air purifier indoors if you have one.
❤️Check on neighbors: Pop in or call your elderly neighbors and loved ones to make sure they are safe and stocked up.
