Birth should be one of your greatest accomplishments, not one of your greatest fears. My approach to childbirth is based on the innate ability of women to give birth. Modern women must rediscover and trust this innate ability. Modern knowing involves making informed decisions based on knowledge of alternatives. Every woman should have the opportunity to give birth as she wishes in an environment that supports her physical and emotional needs. During childbirth education classes I will help you gather the information you need to make informed choices in labor and birth. As your doula I will offer you support before birth to determine what is important to you during birth, during labor I will assist you with comfort measures and productive labor positions, and after birth you will have support breastfeeding and adjusting to life as a new family.

Today we honor and celebrate the history and ongoing impact of the labor movement. This movement helped us get 8-hour workday, weekends, off, Fair wages, and even safer conditions.

Some people celebrate with parades and barbecues but we hope to shed light on doulas and birth workers being paid fairly for their time and efforts.
