Our Island Home Nantucket This is the one and only official page for Our Island Home on Nantucket. Our Island Home is a nursing home that is owned and operated by the Town of Nantucket.

Office hours: 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM. Facility hours: 24/7 Our mission is to provide healthcare services that allow each resident to live their lives to their fullest potential. OIH utilizes community resources and community spirit to keep families together, to ensure continuity of services, and to provide care in a therapeutic environment that meets each residents’ goals. We are humbled and honored to provide our residents with the best nursing and rehabilitative care. We strive to:

-Connect and collaborate with our healthcare partners to improve healthcare services on Nantucket.
-Provide rehabilitative and nursing care that is individualized, innovative, holistic, culturally competent and evidence based.
-To build new and unique opportunities for residents of Nantucket and their family members to age in place.
-Create a work environment for our employees that fosters positivity, growth, education, cultural competence, and teamwork.

Residents are disappointed they are missing Wheelers this week due to the storm. We thank the many volunteers that make Wheelers possible. Residents enjoy their weekly rides to Creeks Preserve and out to the Surfside shack for ice cream. Thank you, Wheelers for all the fun rides you provide for the residents of Our Island Home and the elderly and disabled of Nantucket.

We had a georgeous day to see a Whalers Football game this Sat. The Whalers did a fabulous job with a final score of 16 Whalers to East Bridgewater-8. We would like to thank the Nantucket Public Schools Athletic Department for making our transitions over to bleachers smooth and effortless.

We would like to thank Rocky Fox for sponsoring the Hang Loose ice cream truck at OIH for a grand ice cream social. Thank you, Bianca from the Friends of Our Island Home for organizing this event. Every resident and staff member of OIH were invited to attend the ice cream social. We are never too old to indulge in ice cream. This was a sweeet way to spend the last days of August.
