Whether you are new to acupuncture or come to the island with acupuncture experience, Tammy will easily be able to comprehend your diagnoses and fit a treatment plan to meet your individualized needs. She graduated cm laude with a Master's degree in 2000 from the New England School of Acupuncture (NESA), the oldest school of Acupuncture and East Asian medicine in the United States (which is now affiliated with the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences!). While there, she studied Traditional Chinese Medicine, Herbal medicine, Magnet therapy, and Moxibustion. After school, she studied Japanese Acupuncture under the direction of world-renowned Kiiko Matsumoto and her partner David Euller. Other studies have included further education in shonishin (non-needle treatment for children), Master Tung Acupuncture, Dr. Tan Acupuncture, and Facial or Cosmetic Acupuncture. Prior to her training in Acupuncture, Tammy also studied and received cm laude her Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy (OT) from the University of New Hampshire in 1994. She has worked with all age groups (pediatrics to geriatrics) in multiple hospitals and rehabilitative settings and received her Certified Ergonomics Assessment Specialist training from the Back School of Atlanta. Locally, she has worked per diem at Nantucket Cottage Hospital and also at Our Island Home on Nantucket. Tammy has also shared knowledge of her profession with nursing and athletic training students as an Adjunct Professor of Biology and Allied Health at Merrimac College. While of course, she maintains her CPR and Clean Needle Technique training, from the love of her work is a desire to learn more every opportunity she gets. She loves attending continuing education classes in her quest for knowledge and advanced techniques that will help her clients. Stay tuned or call to see what she is up to next! Tammy also enjoys teaching and speaking about what she does! She welcomes the opportunity to speak with you or your group should you visit our beautiful island of Nantucket.

🤍 A Space for Healing

Healing doesn’t happen in chaos.

Your nervous system has to feel safe before it can truly relax, regulate, and heal. That’s why we’ve created a space that is quiet, grounded, and intentionally designed to feel like home—a place that reminds your body what calm actually feels like.

✨ Not clinical.
✨ Not rushed.
✨ Not transactional.

Just thoughtful, personalized care centered around you.

Every session is tailored to the person sitting in front of us. We listen. We ask better questions. We take the time to understand your story. Then we work together to create a treatment plan that supports your unique needs and goals.

Because healing isn’t one-size-fits-all.

If you’ve been pushing through symptoms, telling yourself you’ll deal with them later, or feeling like no one has taken the time to truly listen, this is where that can change. 🌿

We’re currently accepting new patients and would love to welcome you.

đź’™ Understanding Depression

Through the lens of Chinese Medicine, depression doesn’t always look like sadness.

Sometimes it shows up as:
✨ Irritability
✨ Emotional numbness or feeling disconnected
✨ Constant exhaustion
✨ Loss of motivation
✨ A heaviness in the chest
✨ Waking up at 3 AM with a sense of dread
✨ Losing interest in activities you once loved
✨ Withdrawing from friends and family

In Chinese Medicine, depression often follows identifiable patterns.

Some people experience stagnation — feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or carrying pressure with nowhere for it to go. 🌧️

Others experience depletion — feeling drained, depleted, and like there’s simply nothing left in reserve. 🔋

Both can feel incredibly difficult. Both are real. And both are treatable.

When someone comes to our office, we don’t just talk about mood. We assess:
🌿 Sleep quality
🌿 Digestion
🌿 Stress resilience
🌿 Hormonal balance
🌿 Energy levels
🌿 Circulation

Because mood doesn’t exist in isolation—it reflects what’s happening throughout the body.

Acupuncture and herbal medicine can help regulate the nervous system, reduce inflammation, support healthy sleep, and gradually restore vitality. 🌱

Healing isn’t about forcing positivity. It’s about creating the conditions for your body and mind to feel safe, balanced, and supported again.

If you—or someone you love—feels dimmer than they used to, we’re here to help. 💙

🌱 Green Season, Liver Season 🌱

Spring is Liver season — and the Liver does not thrive on chaos. It thrives on:
✨ Movement
✨ Clean fuel
✨ Emotional expression

You don’t need another extreme cleanse. You need flow.

Move your body daily — even 15 minutes counts.
Eat greens consistently — real, nourishing foods like spinach, kale, broccoli, lettuces, and asparagus. 🥬

And notice where you may be suppressing frustration.

Irritability isn’t always random. In Chinese Medicine, it can be a sign of stagnation asking for movement. If you’ve been feeling tighter, edgier, more reactive, or emotionally “stuck” this season…that’s information, not failure.

Every spring, we help patients regulate these patterns and feel more balanced, grounded, and energized. 🌿

✨ Why Consistency Matters (And Why One Session Isn’t the Point)

We live in a quick-fix culture. One supplement. One biohack. One treatment. Everyone wants instantaneous results…but healing and regulation don’t work that way.

Your nervous system, hormones, and inflammatory patterns didn’t shift overnight — and they won’t reset overnight either.

Acupuncture works cumulatively. 🌿
First, the acute flare begins to calm.
Then sleep improves.
Then hormones start regulating.
Then pain decreases more consistently.
Then your baseline shifts.

That’s why we often recommend a structured 12-week plan. Not because we want you here forever — but because the body needs repetition and consistency to truly re-pattern and heal.

The patients who commit to the process are often the ones who say:
💬 “I didn’t realize how much better I could feel.”

If you’re ready for sustainable change instead of temporary relief, call 📞 508-228-6898 or book through the link in bio.

Quick fixes are loud. Real healing is steady. 🤍

And yes — we also work with visitors here for the season, summer, or even just a weekend. Whether we’re supporting care alongside your practitioner back home or helping you begin something new, we’d love to help.

🌙 A Simple Bedtime Ritual for Better Sleep

If bedtime feels like a negotiation instead of a transition, try this tonight.

About an hour before sleep, steep chamomile tea with a small handful of goji berries. 🍵

🌼 Chamomile calms the nervous system.
đź”´ Goji nourishes the blood, which in Chinese Medicine anchors sleep.
🌿 If you run warm or restless, add mint or hibiscus for cooling.

The ritual matters as much as the ingredients. Warm cup. Dim lights. No screens. Signal safety. ✨

Because sleep isn’t just fatigue. It’s trust.

And if you’ve been doing “all the right things” and still waking between 1–3am or feeling wired at night — that’s not a discipline issue. It’s a regulation issue. 💡

If sleep has become unreliable, schedule some sessions with us.
