Preparation matters when every second counts. ❤️

Our Cardiovascular Institute Ambulatory Surgery Center recently partnered with the NapervilleFireDept ‘s EMS Training Division and Endeavor Health Edward Hospital ‘s Emergency Department for a Code Blue and hospital transfer simulation.

The drill gave our teams the opportunity to practice patient care, communication and coordination from the ASC through EMS transport and transfer to the hospital - helping ensure everyone is prepared to respond efficiently and confidently during a real emergency.

We’re grateful to our partners at Naperville Fire Department and Edward Hospital, as well as our MCI team, for the time, planning and collaboration that went into this important training.

At MCI, preparation is an important part of our commitment to safe, high-quality patient care. ❤️

Proud moment for MCI: our MCI physicians, Dr. Tony DeMartini, Dr. Amin and Dr. Pelka, performed live procedures this morning at the Global CTO Event.

A chronic total occlusion (CTO) is a coronary artery that has been completely blocked for a long time - one of the hardest problems to treat in heart care.
This event brings together some of the world’s most skilled specialists from the US, Japan, Germany, and Hong Kong to perform these complex cases live and share techniques, so care keeps improving for patients everywhere.

To perform these cases live, in front of an international faculty, is the standard our patients benefit from every day. It’s a fitting embodiment of Kizuna - the bond between teacher and student, woven across borders.

A new chapter in cardiovascular care begins. ❤️

Our Cardiovascular Institute Ambulatory Surgery Center (CIASC) is officially open—and we’re already caring for patients.

In our first days, the team has successfully performed:
• Cardioversions
• Coronary angiograms
• Peripheral angiograms
• Venograms
• Loop recorder removals

This milestone represents more than a new facility. It means patients now have access to advanced cardiovascular procedures in a modern, outpatient setting designed for comfort, efficiency, and exceptional care.

Congratulations to our physicians, nurses, technologists, and every team member who made this possible. This is only the beginning.
