What a night. 🎨🐴

This last Sunday, Oreo with Transformative Growth Counseling and Pinot’s Palette Naperville teamed up for our very first equine program fundraiser — and yes, Oreo, a real live miniature therapy horse, was in the studio.

Oreo showed up, dressed to impress, and reminded every single person in that room why this work matters.

A huge, heartfelt thank you to Pam, owner of Pinot’s Palette Naperville, for opening your doors, welcoming our team, and making this evening possible. Your generosity means more than you know.

Because of everyone who came out, reserved a seat, and showed up for us — we can now offer 10 kids, a social skills and confidence building group with Oreo, free of charge!

That’s real impact. Paint, sip, and change lives. 🐎✨

What if your child’s therapist could actually see their frustration — not just hear about it?

Any given session can sound like this: “They get really frustrated when things don’t go their way.” The therapist writes it down. They talk about it. They build a plan.

And then life happens. And none of it transfers.

For kids and adults who navigate the world differently or have unique developmental challenges, that gap between the therapy room and real life can feel impossible to bridge.

Here’s what equine-assisted therapy does differently.

Your loved one is working with a horse and therapist. That horse decides today is not the day. He stops moving. He’s not cooperating. And suddenly — the frustration described in session for months? It’s right there. Live. Real. Visible.

Tears? Anger? Shutdown? Negotiating? Lack of confidence? Whatever shows up, the therapist is standing right there — stepping in to help navigate it in real time. That’s just one emotion. Imagine all the others.

This isn’t recreational or adaptive riding. No ribbons. There’s no riding at all, actually. This is mental health care — in real situations, with real emotions that cannot be rehearsed, masked, or performed.

The horse doesn’t follow a script. He responds to what your loved one brings. That’s profoundly powerful for people whose inner world doesn’t always show up in a traditional session.

At TGC, our equine programs are built on evidence-based research developed by Dr. Jessica, a psychologist and clinical therapist with 18 years of experience. Your loved one works with a trained mental health professional, doing real clinical work in real time.
