Choosing between home care and assisted living is a big decision for families, and the right choice depends on your loved one’s needs, preferences, and level of independence.

Home care allows older adults to receive personalized support while remaining in the comfort of their own home, while assisted living provides care in a residential community setting. Understanding the differences can help families make a more informed decision about what works best for them.

Today, we pause to remember the lives lost, the families forever changed, and the courage shown on September 11, 2001.

On this Patriot Day and the 25th anniversary of 9/11, we honor the memory of those we lost and express our gratitude to the first responders, service members, and everyday heroes who answered the call with strength and selflessness.

As caregivers, we are reminded that compassion, connection, and caring for one another remain some of the most powerful ways we can honor their legacy.

August is Autoinflammatory Awareness Month, and for many families, it's the first time they've even heard the word.

Autoinflammatory diseases cause the body to trigger its own inflammation: sudden flares of fever, rash, joint or belly pain, and deep fatigue, followed by calmer stretches with no warning of when the next one hits. That unpredictability is what makes it so hard to plan around, whether it's a child's school day or a parent's job.

Our Naperville caregivers help families manage the in-between and the flare itself, with steady medication reminders, hands-on comfort during a bad stretch, and short-notice back-up care so no one is left scrambling when a flare disrupts the day.

What does recovery actually look like after surgery? For many Naperville families, it's not what you'd expect from TV or movies. It's help getting dressed when raising an arm hurts. It's a caregiver nearby the first time you stand up on your own again. It's meals that fit a new diet restriction, and a ride to that follow-up appointment across town so nobody misses a full day of work.

The first one to two weeks home are usually the hardest, and having the right support in place before surgery day (not after) makes all the difference. Our new blog breaks down what after surgery care at home actually involves, why healing often goes better at home than in a facility, and how long families typically need support.

If a surgery date is coming up, or someone's already home and the days are harder than expected, we're here to help build a plan around it. 💙

question: what happens the day after discharge? We gladly answer that after surgery home care lends the hands-on help that fills the space between a hospital bed and getting back ...
